Thread after thread after thread of "He did this" and "She did this" and OMG look at what they did...

What does it get you?

Someone else's take on the personality of a politician......?

One incident in which the politician made a bad decision... ?

But does it tell you this...

1. Will they support the things that YOU believe in?

2. Will they cast their votes in favor of bills that YOU want to see put through?

3. Will they represent YOU

Politicians make a living out of being good speakers. That is a fact. It is also a fact that the closer we get to election time, the more and more "HYPE" you are going to see here and everywhere else.

Just look at the recent "Trash the Politician" threads that have been springing up all over the ATS boards lately... What are they? Well that is for you to decide, for me they have become a certain annoyance and even a source of humor in their ridiculous nature.

Who cares how they dress?
Who cares what they do in their private lives?
Who cares who they are married to?
Who cares what color they are or what religion?

Do they represent US?

Face it, any idiot can post anything they want; all they need to do is take things out of context, not tell the whole story or out-right lie.. It is the season after all...

So what to do.... HMMMMMMMM

How about this?

Instead of listening to what the Morons or the Politicians (Same?) say... Look at what they do....

Check out these links and look at what they have actually done... NOT WHAT THEY SAY.. or what OTHERS SAY...

Project Vote Smart, Voting Records

Voting Record by Member

U.S. Senate Roll Call

Become informed... Educate yourself on your candidate and how they have voted on bills in the past...

Not just their words...

Research... Research... Research...

Look at what they do and ignore what they say....

Good luck and see you at the Polls...

Excellent post Semper! We can always count on you to lay down a little "common sense" for the masses here at PTS. Although this information may seem very elementary to some of us, I do believe that far too many people become caught up in the mud slinging and name calling that is politics.

So as Semper said, don't listen to what anyone else has to say, and don't let others sway your opinions or views. Do your own research, and when you find a candidate that you support, who supports what you believe in, support them. It's that simple.
