Out of curiosity, how do we know that you didn't post it for the other site as well? Then come back here to stir up trouble?

This is a conspiracy site, so I can't be the only one wondering.

Other than calling PIPEX Communications and lodging a complaint I think this is a job for our SkepticOverlord. I don't know enough to track this any further, and it's obvious some of the information listed on Whois is false.

The name listed may be real but:

2 R2D2 Lane
Scotland, Scotland RU12
UK

as an address that is obviously bogus.

I can't find a directory for Scotland to look up Alex James, but if someone is in that part of the world you could make a call to +44.115-917-0000 and see if it's even a valid # for the ISP or host. I do get suspicious when I see that many zeros on a phone number though.

It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

I'm not sure if this will be of any help or not, but I came across this page about "Iiworks" which is described as the "R&D Division of Iirobotics" and gives what looks to be a more legitimate address in Edinburgh.

Iiworks

EDIT to add info

Basic Information
Company Name: Iiworks- The R&D Division Of Iirobotics
Business Type: Manufacturer
Product/Service: Educational Toys
Company Address: 26 St Mary's Street, Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Well, at least this shows that your work is gaining an international following. Rise up to the ranks of Hancock

As I understand it, everything posted here is copyright ATS, which is why it should be no problem to have the stuff on that website put down.

Relax and celebrate your fame.

Hey there, I live in the north and just called the number ... surprise, surprise it's not recognized ... and without a specific town in the address I can't get a number from the operator for that address.

That stinks really, they blatantly are in breach of the license which that forum post is under.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

They don't credit you, ATS, or provide a link on their 'article'

www.iirobotics.com.../

That copyright license is in really simple english, and easy to understand, and pretty liberal too. How hard would it have been to comply?

About that hard, 3 lines, and I didn't even have to type them, I just copy pasted them from the license page for that post.

What fame? They didn't give credit where credit is due, it was a cut and paste job with image hotlinking to Mike's photobucket account (how low can they go?).

I'm flagging this in suport of you, Mike. Hopefully the admins of ATS will take action.

Thanks.

I also just looked-up that address on Google Maps and it does appear that there is such an address. Let's hope that it actually leads somewhere.

Would it be against the T&C to organise a collective registering by ATSers on that site and making the complaint known to all who are members of that forum?

what's needed is a cyber-texan with a virtual-12guage...they stole from a neighbours thread, let 'em 'av it!

It's a breach of the T&C:

2g.) Board Wars: You will not use these boards to organize "attacks" on other boards, blogs, or discussion groups, and similarly, you will not organize such attacks against this board. Doing so will result in removal of your post(s) and immediate termination of your account.

Edit: at least I think it is. It won't be long before the complaints devolve into outright flaming.
