Litany of Humility

This is an incredibly wonderful prayer I wanted to share with you about Humility from James McNulty. Its something we all need I included to rid of self love.

O jesus! Meek and humble of heart, hear me.

From the desire of being esteemed,
From the desire of being loved,
from the desire of being extolled,
From the desire of being honored,
from the desire of being praised,
from the desire of being preferred,
from the desire of being consulted,
from the desire of being apporoved,

Deliever me Jesus.

From the fear of being humiliated,
from the fear of being despised,
from the fear of suffering rebukes,
from the fear of being calumniated,
from the fear of being forgotten,
from the fear of being ridiculed,
from the fear of being wronged,
from the fear of being suspected,

Deliever me Jesus.

That others may be loved more than I,
that others may be estemmed more than I,
That in the opinion of the world, others may increase, and I decrease,
that others may be chosen and I set aside,
That others may be praised and I unnoticed,
that others may be preferred to me in everything,


That others may become holier than I, provided I should become as holy as I should.

Jesus grant me the grace to desire it.


I love this guy and this prayer..

I also believe thats why jesus loves the childlike. They are last minded, not first, and follow the leader in humility. And it also says, the first will be last, and the last first in the new knigdom.

So all the humble, silent, last minded souls, will be made kings of heaven and first, and vise versa.
