MOSCOW-A train leaving the Paveletskaya subway station in Moscow was
attacked by a suicide bomber, killing as many as 50 people and injuring another 100. The explosion came at 8:30am local time, at the height of rush
hour on a line that would have been packed with commuters.
Ambulances are on the scene triaging the injured, and Moscow hospitals have been put on alert. Witnesses say rescuers have only reached the outer
edges of the blast area, as the train is still on fire, and expect the casualty count to rise.
Both the Paveletskya station and the Avtozavodskaya station, the train's next stop, have been closed. Smoke is reported to be billowing from both
