One BOINC developer confirmed recently that another snapshot WILL be taken of the Seti@Home Classic workunits when they are ready to close down the
Classic site.
In my opinion, I think they should stop sending out new workunits first and give people some time to finish the ones they have in cache or are
currently being processed.

Some more splitters are now up and are producing more workunits. Tomorrow BOINC v4 and a new version of Seti@Home will release. All work that was
uploaded during the period of August 13 and 18 was lost, so no credit will be given to those. This work is being regenerated and will be sent out
again.

Thanx for the update xn - any idea of when S@h "classic" will be terminated please? Certainly, at the moment I don't feel inclined to "move over"
to BOINC, based on the apparent problems it still has??

BOINC and S@H v4 will release on Friday morning PDT.
For those who have not experienced a major version upgrade yet, what will happen is this: The project will be brought down while the server-side
binaries are upgraded. Between now and then you can let your caches drain by setting your preferences to minimum of 0 days and maximum of 0 days. Then
update the project to pull down the new perferences. When the server comes back online it'll have the new 4.x clients. When you install it, it'll
rebenchmark your machine and dump any workunits that remain. Other than that, it'll look just like the 3.x client.
No word yet on when the S@H Classic server is decommissioned.

The migration to 4.x has been rescheduled for tomorrow the 29th at 10am PDT. The scheduler and file upload handler has been brought down until the
migration happens to give the splitters and transitioners time to produce enough workunits and results to send out after the migration when the
clients reset themselves.

I finally updated the thread subject, since BOINC has released now. BOINC v4.09 and S@H v4.03 are the latest releases to this point. Some changes that
went in after v4.09 includes a new GUI, according to the checkin notes.
-NEWGUI: Refactor all view logic to accommodate the new task based interface.
-NEWGUI: Add the new projects task pane.
-NEWGUI: Stub the other tabs.
-NEWGUI: Include new visuals for the task based UI.
I'm keeping track of the progress of the S@H Classic decommission, which may happen within the next few months.
This page shows the current status of the S@H (on BOINC) servers:

The new GUI should look the same on Solaris, Linux, and Mac when completed.

SAH v4.05 for Windows has been released! This will automatically be downloaded by BOINC next time you contact the server. Changes include: the "heads
up" mode now works and the progress bar advances in a more linear fashion. Earlier today version 4.04 released, which gave users checksum errors and
failed to run. This problem has been fixed in v4.05.
