Thanks for the help xn, that worked.

Under the messages tab in BOINC v4.12, I get the message that v4.13 is now available, but it isn't available on the site yet. Any release to alpha is
untested and may or may not work.
Update: here's the link for Windows: setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu...

Very like setiatwork, but for OINC. According to it only 21 active members! Lets have afew more of the multi computer chaps swithcing over at least 1
machine so we can climb the rankings properly.

Originally the plan was for S@H Classic to end a month after the cross platform gui releases and everything is stable. The Windows version of that
client is in alpha testing right now (at version 4.52). I'd probably give S@H Classic a few more months.

BOINC v4.53 released to Alpha!
Here's what's new in v4.53:
-fixes a few more crashes
-adds remote manageability
-adds auto reconnect
-status bar now contains an icon representing whether your connected to a core client or not
-the title bar now contains the machine name you're connected to
-the show graphics link should only show for those applications that can actually display graphics
-when downloading new results to process the client will now detect that the global state information needs to be updated and will do so
They will be switching over to writing a new installer once a new version of installshield shows up. They'll need to redesign the screensaver logic
to handle a virtual desktop change, so the graphics displays when running as a service.
With the release of this, there's also a S@H v4.07 for Windows. Also, there's now Astropulse app v4.00 for alpha testing.

S@H app v4.07 has been released. This release should increase speed over the previous versions and it also includes BOINC API changes, which were made
in preparation for the graphics interface for Linux, Mac, and Solaris.

A lot of work is being put into the new GUI, which I've tested. Here's some interesting bits of information:
"We are still far from forcing old SETI@home users to move over to BOINC. When BOINC is poised to take on 500,000 more users, we'll throw the
switch."
"We are in the process of releasing intermediate builds while we shore up the feature set for what 4.5x-4.6x will be.
I would prefer the public not mess with these builds until the feature set has stabilized, and we are closer to release. This build was released
mostly to see how the new installer worked out. The code hasn’t been written yet to deal with the graphics issues when boinc.exe itself is running as
a service.
That’ll show up in a future version."

So am I doing anything by running Boinc? I just switched from the old seti@home. Can I run boinc with the knowledge it is doing something? Or do I
reinstall the old seti?
