I've figured it out.

The current trend for one line posts is a cry for attention.
Maybe parents aren't spending enough time with them or something

It's getting ridiculous and really lowering the quality of the board.
People should realise this ISN'T a lonely hearts club or a creche.
It's supposed to be a forum where people can ADD their views to a topic.

It's PATHETIC guys. Come on,try and keep the standards that have been attracting thousands of people here for years.

Perhaps we should try adding more mods to solve this issue?

If you can say all you need to that is on topic with a single line, where is the problem?

Or maybe an IQ test that people have to pass to prove that they are capable of stringing together more than one line at a time.

I see where your coming from but again a member of this great site can type words into there computer for hours and hours on this site and while there are many great topics here to discus, these people don't always or are unable to add anything of value or anything relevant to any givin topic they choose to participate in Here.

Like the guy you want to shut up, he says he will shut up but he doesn't shut up, he just keeps talking and talking, he goes on and on and just keeps flapping his lips like they are saying, or are going to say anything interesting. I hate it when people like that won't shut up, they just keep going and talking and so on and so forth and what not.

The above is a joke btw.

Was it any better than:
Hey I agree with you and this was a good post.
Or
I have nothing interesting or intelligent to add to this topic.

Funny as it seems, I would class all the one liners here as relevant.

First two a direct comment to the topic and the third injecting a little humor/play on topic.

I just read a thread where a guy commented where he missed the topic in question(ufo) because he "was doing an essay"!!

Who gives a flying crap for chris's sake?
Why bother.??
(Bangs head against laptop just for the sheer excruriating pleasure of it..and it's not working properly anyway)

You even see one-liner OPs these days, with no links, just the mentioning of some event. That another poster eventually will provide a vid of, or link to.

Pathetic, yes, spoiled.

I'm not happy about ATS being a family site.

Remember what a one-line post is and isn't.

If you post on topic and it's only one line, thats ok.

If you post off topic and it's two lines, thats still a one-line post, becuase it's off topic.

"Yeah I agree"

"I think I saw it too"

...Would be classed as "ON topic" as they are replying to something that has just been said..

POINTLESS.. but on topic..

The comment that "inspired" this thread was a total waste of wear and tear on my eyeballs.
I want the .3 of a second (it took to read it )back plus expenses towards a pair of reading glasses(should I ever need them)
