I dunno if its been posted here guys, but they showed how this was done in HBO..THey showed the Tebalt machine or whatever was being misshandled, and the voting would be the exact opposite...Then you had the people there crying, and couldn't believe what was true..

Great post and thanks for bringing it more to the forefront. Unfortunately, I still believe that our votes don't count worth crap. It has already been stated that even when everyone knows that Al Gore won and people were crying about their cheated votes, it still didn't change a thing.

The powers at be and the government truly believe that it is "us against them." They are only their for the corporate and special interests and if by any chance some of their policies actually does the main population good, well, it was purely by accident and they will parade that fact forever!!

We are only here to finance their littles games, free food, dress-up days with the other boys and girls in their little uniforms, etc.. We are only along for the ride for better or for worse.

I don't have the answers on how to reverse this insult, trust me, I wish I did. But, I think this lie has been going on for soooo long that there is literally no turning back.

Just my .000000000000000000000002 cents

My God man, why are you still suffering from PEST - post election selection trauma.
These are old claims that only make people like you feel self pity.
Lets just say for a second you are right and Bush really did steal the election as many of your comrades claim. If you sat down and thought about it long enough you would finally realize just how lucky you are as a result. I mean Gore would have been elected, we would've been attacked again many times over, and he would be too busy with Global Warming that he would not have time to deal Islamo Fascists, the US would by now have been taken over, which means we would now be forced to convert or die, science and technology would soon be a thing of the past, gays and aethists would have been rounded up tortured and killed, Hollywood would no longer be producing R rated movies, a crucifix in urine would no longer be considered art much less Mo Toons and sites like this one would have been removed. All this with some possible involvement from Uday and Qusay. Gone would be the days of bashing Christians, Arts and Entertainment would be outlawed, and the list goes on.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. Diebold machines had several technical failures at pretty much every polling system. An easy hack into the machine would allow someone to switch votes to the opposite side quite easily.

An open invitation to election fraud

Could AP rig the election?

Diebold machines seriously flawed

"Biggie Smalls is the illest", lol.

Thanks for replying to that. I thought it was going to go unanswered.

Diebold machines are seriously screwed up. There's been reports of them "losing" votes, counting backwards, shifting votes at random, not to mention how easy they are to hack. Then there's all the votes from dead people, cast either by inside agents, OR by illegal mexicans using stolen social security numbers of said dead people. The way in which we conduct elections is HIGHLY flawed, and is in need of serious reform, if we are to ever again be "allowed" to actually elect someone to the office of President of the United States.

What the hell are you talking about? You're not making any sense. Are you saying islamic radicals would take over the country, or are you talking about the chinese? And the attacks...this assumes that they were actually carried out by islamic radicals, and not elements (rogue or otherwise) of our own government, to justify the insane "security" measures devised by the current administration.

2000 was a mess. Bush is an idiot, and so was Gore. (gore is right on global warming, but that's about it.) I'm hard pressed to decide who's more of an idiot. Bush ("i choked on a pretzel", "where wings take dream", "heck of a job, brownie"), or Gore ("i invented the internet", "I'm gonna try to push AFO, out of the mud"), Both choices were bad, but that election was stolen by hanging chad, and careful manipulation.

2004 was a mess too.....Bush is still an idiot, but Kerry is less of one. However, Kerry and Bush are cousins, so would we really have seen change? This election was stolen by either hacked, or reprogrammed Diebold machines counting backwards, shifting votes, or just having the values changed. there were also reports of more dead people voting for bush, disenfranchised black people, and other such nonsense.

Which brings us to 2008. The best candidate is being completely ignored by the media, because he's the one the people want....what we'll end up with is either Clinton, Obama, Romney, or Guliani....they're ALL bad choices, but they're the puppets of choice for the people actually running the show, so one of them will get in, and the insanity will continue.

There is no hope until the election process is reformed.

The next president November 2008 will be president Fred Thompson.
Long live the republican party.

Does anybody know whether electronic voting machines are required to meet the same TEMPEST shielding requirements as other government equipment? "Vote swapping" could be a real problem...

Waah Waaaaahh Waaaaaaahhhh

Please people. No one stole the election. The electoral college works. Why would the republicans really want to do this in California? They should try to do it throughout the whole US. Did anyone see the Red vs. Blue map for the 2000 and 2004 election? If we broke down all voting districts, Bush would have destroyed Gore. If not for places like NY City, San Fransisco and other largely liberal cities, He would have won alot more states.

The republicans lost the house and the senate last time...Did we cry foul? No....

The sad thing is...every time going forward that a democrat loses the presidential election we have to brace for weeks of bitching and complaining that the presidency was stolen. Its very tiring. Its getting very old.

I say we make a pact right here, right now. I won't complain if a democrat wins, and no one demands recounts, and calls for protests if a Republican wins.

And another thing.........All those people that swore they would leave the US if Bush won the first time....why are you still here? And those that swore it the second time....... Didn't you learn anything from the first time?

I still believe, the republicans will maintain control of the White house. So I am sure that we are in for a long, long 4 weeks after the election.

if the stock market crashes or mass unemployment occurs then people will feel enough pain to get off their butts and make a change in politics and voting machines and pretty much anything that is highlighted as F'd up BUT, UNTIL then we will put up with the crap, and either just complain about it or rationalize and believe that everything is dandy.

that is what it takes for changes to come about in masse, especially when a population is sidetracked with entertainment.

the only thing that makes me wonder about Ron Paul is if he realizes how dependent the nation has grown on the complex entangled corrupt web we have woven and that some of his ideas may be a sort of shock therapy for the country, and unless we change our ideals from materialism to something else (?) we will be in for a bit of pain, although this change in america's standard of living may be inevitible and he is the only one with a plan and honest desire (so it seems) to rebuild this country from the inside out.

oh and RP is generating some serious Cash from the investment class lately (traders and such) he will hit 10,000,0000 if he hasn't yet and those numbers will ensure people will speak out if he get's cheated.

The founding fathers were brilliant! You do vote for pres. But as a state. The respective states decide. You decide within your state. Its democracy at is best!! No better way do do it than they did.

It's not as if it is a new thing. Two states currently cast their Electoral votes differently from the "winner takes all" that most States do.

As far as I know, it is up to each State to decide the system in allocating it's Electoral votes, it is not spelled out in the Constitution that they must cast an "all or nothing" vote. If you are not a resident of CA, then quite frankly, it is none of your business. Each State has the right to decide.

IMO, it does seem like the Maine method for casting Electoral votes is a more accurate representation of voter will. It does have it drawbacks. It certainly would change the way Presidential campaigns are run. A Maine method would probably result in the candidates visiting more than just "swing States" and heavy population centers during an election.

In the Maine Method, the votes for president in each congressional district elect one Presidential Elector. The state-wide vote elects two more Presidential Electors. The state's electoral votes could be split among two or more candidates, as the state's Congressional delegation can be split among parties.

In 2000, George W. Bush carried 2,439 counties to 674 for Sen. Al Gore. Bush lost the popular vote but won the election.

OK, this is what is going on. The left, is planning on tampering with the election as they have done for almost 10 years "Publicly". They are very open about this issue, they tell you who they are every day, but most decide not to listen.

The right is planning on keeping the left from tampering with the election, therefore, the election will be tampered with. Both sides of the coin are instigating this, but it is mostly due to the left. Don't believe it, thats your problem and right.

Open your ears, the DNC is telling you OPENLY they are trying to form a Communist Country. Wake up. Open your eyes, the GOP is showing you that they are no longer conservative. Its right in front of your eyes, look how they act.

I'm so glad someone has come to their senses.

As bad as the "right" is (and I put "right" in quotes because there's no real conservatives left in the Republican Party), the left is a whole lot worse. The left is openly corrupt and flaunt it. The scary thing is, people still embrace them. I'm on a college campus. I watch the most ignorant people in the country - college students - suckle on the teat of the most corrupt party in the history of the USA - the current Democratic Party.

Of course, you can't do much when the second most corrupt party in the history of the USA is the current Republican Party

My only correction to what you said is that the current Democratic Party is better classified as a strong Socialist movement, not a Communist movement...although it's getting closer and closer every day.

We have a 2 party system, and its destroying us. Please, no plugs for Ron Paul, this guy is unelectable. Sure, he may have some good ideas, but the guy is more looney then the Canadian Dollar.

This is how I see it. You are my brothers, yes, Im talking to the left and Democrats. We have every thing in common. The party's want us to fight, they want us to see the bad in the other and focus on it. They want to destroy us, because that gives them the power. We are AMERICANS, not DEMOCRATS OR REPUBLICANS. For those who do not share this country, you are my brothers as well, you are Human... barring the aliens.

Their will be hanky panky in this election, COUNT ON IT!
I am a conservative and my first thought at seeing the OP, was, oh great, another "My Party Lost and its the Conservatives fault" thread. Its everyones fault for keeping their mouths shut and letting it happen.

WE THE PEOPLE, are in charge of this country, not I THE PRESIDENT, or I THE JUDGE, or I the "insert elected offical here".

The recent election was not about a mandate on ending the war, it was about FIRING! For the first time in years, people stood up and FIRED the skaters and squaters. Do it again I say. We need to fire these people, and I mean 99% of the elite elected officials. Not all of them are bad, but the majority is.

Well, if you follow what happened last Congressional election...we fired the corrupt Republicans and let in even more corrupt Democrats. If the approval rating of Congress hasn't showed us that the Democrats are even bigger liars than the Republicans, nothing will. We're even worse off than we were 2 years ago. I'm amazed we were able to block a disguised amnesty bill from further destroying the fabric of American society.

The people are still in this. The only way we're going to be able to take back America is to vote in an Independent...and when I say an Independent, I mean the most extreme Conservative Independent we can find. We need an Independent that will fine these multinational conglomerates billions of dollars, force every single illegal immigrant back to where they came from by fining the companies billions of dollars in total that hire them, build a wall around our southern border and cut the LEGAL IMMIGRATION RATE 85%, back to a level we can socially support (pre-1960's levels)

I feel that the electronic voting machines Diebold (Veneauela) make the electorial vote irrelevant....I dont trust them I trust our process but not the machines they have been proven that they can be manipulated......

Now also does it seem weird to anyone else that all these dictators seem to be up for power grabs and desperate to keep power???

Such as Chavez (Venezuela),Puttin (Russia),Musharriff (Pakistan) Just seems weird to me that these guys all with shaky if not bad relations with the USA also China turning our ships away even when in danger just seems weird to me.....

Wouldnt be surprised if Bush would try out his new powers to invoke Marshall law if nothoing else.... the way I see things going

Uh....you were backing up what I said right? The map is exactly what I was saying. Bush blew him away on a county by county base. My point is we don;t need to do this in California. We could do it in every state except California and it would make California needless. Very few times does California vote one way and those candidates lose. As much as I agree with the Electoral college, I still think too much strength is given to states like California, NY, Texas and Florida.

thanks rockpuck for the explanation of the usa's political system---------------in federal elections of the executive branch---the states vote for who will be president----NOT the people.---------------what you say here reassures me that i made the right choice 40 years ago to never vote for any politicians-----------i didnt trust any of them then-----------and i trust them less now.the state of israel is in the same boat as the usa-------------the people vote for parties and the parties get together after elections and decide which party with its individual . will run the government------------because of this system the jewish people in israel are stuck with a prime minister that most israelis hate-------------a man that acts more like a muslim than a jew------and whose policies threaten to destroy the country------by giving it away bit by bit to those that hate the jews.

That's a rather revisionistic view of reality when you take into consideration the following things-

A- the media called Florida for Gore prematurely, affecting voters in other states, which quite conceivably could've voted for Bush.

B- there were multiple recounts in Florida, and each time the numbers came out showing Bush winning Florida.

C- The democrats didn't allow absentee ballots from overseas into the equation, knowing that the majority of military voters are conservative.

D- The Founding Fathers were very wise in having the Electoral College. We don't live in a pure Democracy. We live in a Federal Republic.

E- Why was it that only the Democratic constituents had problems figuring out how to work the voting machines? I thought Republicans were the uneducated rednecks, whilst the Democrats were supposed to be the enlightened intellectual types. Maybe they were more concerned with getting their free cigarettes, than paying attention to the instructions in the booths.
