EVEL Knievel, the hard-living, death-defying adventurer who went from stealing motorcycles to riding them in a series of spectacular airborne stunts in the 1960s and '70s, has died. He was 69.

The great man has moved on to the next great adventure.

I never did get to see him live (way before my time) but I see the videos and still want to bite my fingers. Nobody else tries these stunts much any more, all that's left are poor imitations.

He was a one and only!

I remember watching Evel on Wide World of Sports. Yes, it was always spectacular. I remember the tension leading up to the events. You didn't know if it was going to happen or not.
Ya, he was one of a kind.
