Yeah, it was, but it was an old episode. Plus they worked it in to a Back to the Future reference.

The episode was called meet the quagmires and the section is about 19m15s into the episode.

There is a new form of trolling that has been plaguing the internet and ATS lately and will not be tolerated. This form of trolling is called Rickrolling, and is extremely sinister.

A guy at another forum used to trick people into clicking on tubgirl.. now I'm remembering that visual and I have that tune stuck in my head.

thanks for that.

Man I remember the times when this kind of thing just didn't happen on the internet, many years ago, back when the internet was only for boffins and army types, back in those days I had much fun also, but there was this one time that was really troublesome, and my mom got scared, and said your moving to your uncles and aunties in bel air, i whistled for a cab and when it came near, the license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror. If anything i could say this cab was rare, but i though 'nah forget it, yo holmes, to bel air'

Having been informed of the rickrolling policy I have but one question,

What is the policy on this new weapon recently unleashed into cyberspace?

OH NOOOOOOEEESSSSSSS

I truly fear the latest insidious trickery that you have pointed out. I fully expect that it will come as a plague on our fair site

What have you done sir? Pointing out this foul plot will certainly hasten our repeated exposure to it!!!

pandoras box has been opened!

WOW, some people have way too much time on their hands!

Kind of scary and funny at the same time.

Here's some data on this particular phenomenon:

"RickRoll" internet phenomenon

The song's music video became the basis for an Internet phenomenon known as "Rick Rolling", originally from 4chan where a YouTube link to the video is disguised as a link to something else, usually something the "victim" being Rickrolled would find interesting, in order to deceive the user to click the link.[1] Once the video has begun, the "rules" stipulate that it must be watched to the end. As a result, two videos have received over 8.5 million collective hits on Youtube as of January 7, 2008.

Wow! This is some fast moving phenomenon!

And there's this.

I see that the first reference to this phenomenon on Urban Dictionary is May 13, 2007, so it's not exactly new.

You people do understand the rules to rick rolling, right?

Rule number one is that once rick rolled, you MUST watch the entire video.

You also are supposed to let the person who rolled you know that they got you, and that "it's on."

Here is a website that discusses all the rick roll rules and provides a list of site you will be banned from if you rick roll

I've been having so much fun with this. It's my new favorite thing to do on AIM and Myspace.

And they know when they've been hit.

Check out the comment I got from this guy.

This thread should be removed. It is based on hoaxing members, and Hoaxing is prohibited on ATS.

Fun and games are fine, but deliberate deception belongs on lower class sites IMHO.

More tin foil hats, less bogus threads.

Mmmmm, quality.

You are aware that this will require some form of retaliation.

Probably when you least expect it.
