news.bbc.co.uk

A haemorrhagic fever that has killed 16 people and infected more than 50 others in Uganda has been confirmed as the deadly Ebola virus.

The casualties are all in the region of Bundibugyo, on the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo.

DR Congo has been battling for five months to contain an Ebola outbreak close to its border with Angola.

5 months battling this epidemic....!!!

wow...

And it's not over yet. If the virus is passed on as they say it does, shouldn't this be a far easier to stop spreading?

Yes, there will be the odd few who go hunting for some bush meat, but ragarding those who may come into physical contact with others, surely that can be prevented quite easily.

If the physical contact information was passed around, then it's just common sense not to touch anyone until the all clear is given.

Or am I being too optimistic?

Viruses have this thing they do quite well, It's called mutating. Let's hope that sucker does not mutate and turns into something that can be caught like the flu.
