Saudi Arabia has released 1500 militant al Qaeda from prison after they promised to cease activity on the Arabian peninsula.

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia, waging a crackdown on Islamist militants that has lasted for more than four years, has released some 1,500 jailed suspects after they "repented," a newspaper said on Sunday. The 1,500 were among about 3,200 militants with whom representatives of a government-appointed "advice committee" met around 5,000 times since it was formed three years ago, Al-Watan said, quoting committee member Mohammad al-Nujaimi.

Well, this is interesting. They promised to behave while on the Arabian peninsula, but no mention of when in the US or other parts of the west,

is this similar to christian repenting where you can be as bad as you like and do whatever you want so long as you repent afterwards and then everything is ok again just because you repented? even if you relapse into your old habits .......
i don't think you find that many repentant suicide bombers around

You're referring to the sacrament of confession. Utter your confession to the priest, complete the assigned penance, and you're free to go.

How many secrets those priests would have heard when the church was in it's heyday!
