A little known fact...
The serpent was actually a prehistoric materialization of Ralpg H. Baer, inventor of the handheld memory game/world domination tool Simon. In order for his evil plot to control the world to come into play, he had to create a sense of evil in the world (sin). In ancient texts Baer is referred to as "the morning star" or Enlil in sumerian text.
He, through researching Nazi hollow earth technological advances in Antarctica, found a way to bend the time-space continuum through the use of the Simon memory game. There is a sequence of colored buttons one has to push in order to open a worm hole and travel freely throughout time.
Baer, credited with the disappearance of the Roanoke colonists as well as the Fall of Man, is a man of legend and unadulterated evil.
In popular culture he was instrumental in Paul McCartney's death and replacement with a look-alike Nazi war criminal.

But in all actuality I do not really believe that the serpent was a reptilian humanoid like Hillary Clinton.
