White House Claims Al Qaeda May Target 08 elections

thinkprogress.org

The 2008 elections are still a year away, but this morning outgoing Homeland Security Adviser Frances Fragos Townsend told CNN that al Qaeda may target the presidential elections. She said that while there is currently no “specific information,” “we know that Al Qaeda views these periods as being a particularly vulnerable period.”

Well, then Bush would be "forced" to remain president to keep the country running eh?

I think it is funny that the Security Advisor that announced this was the same one that, just yesterday announced she would be stepping down.

These alerts are starting to sound like a broken record. But it's gotta be said anyway. Don't want the people to forget that the terrorist are just around the corner. Keep on fearing. Don't worry, the government will protect you.

Something tells me this isn't exactly the desired response that the press release was hoping for. Come on people, we need more fear and less laughter!

Here's my fear:

They will probably target the super bowl too, I heard that Mr.Osama is an avid Dolphins fan and wouldnt want the PATRIOTS ( too american ) to trounce that record...

Another attack?

Lame.

Shouldn't it be titled as "White House Claims White House May Target 08 elections"?

Better yet, "White House to remain target unless Bush stays president"

How about the laughter from me is due to a mental breakdown brought on by Bush & Co???

I hope you buy that one because i'm suing the government for pain and suffering.

I went nuts awhile ago, when Bush stole the presidency to be exact.

Here i sit in the mental ward grieving over my country and i am insane now.

Well, I'm sure this is all just a misunderstanding. The White House meant to say Diebold would target the '08 elections, but they were so used to saying "Al Qaeda" that it just kind of... slipped.

Strangely, I'm more concerned about whether that pesky leak comes back with today's forecast rain, than this.

Hahaha...

Maybe Osama will make a new video showing his support for Ron Paul!

Imagine how much fun the media would have with that.

the only thing i can imagine is zealots with bomber-vests
running into voting precincts, & going Boom

now if there are 1,000 precincts in an average state
and you multiply that with the 50 states, the protectorates, &
places like Guam that vote in american elections ....

then some 60,000 or more suicide bombers are quietly
getting their vests loaded for Nov. 2008 presidential elections

one must consider the 'source'

ms. Fran Townsend was attached to the White House for 4 1/2 years,
she was the terror advisor...

but she recently resigned to go into the private sector as some sort of
'Risk Management' advisor....

or maybe even Politics... as she says in this news story,
see story here; www.kansascity.com...

i'd file her statement as a 'name-recognition' ploy,
if the statement, reasonable or not, puts her name in the media
or the election threat-by AQ gets repeated up till the nomination
conventions, her name value will increase & translate into commanding
a higher salary or wage compensation...

she's planning ahead...
as we all should
