The British Government has announced that an Intelligence inquiry will take place. This follows the announcement,by Bush, of a similar Inquiry in the
US.
Bush has asked that his inquiry report within 18 months which is conveniently after the November Presidential elections but inconveniently for Mr
Blair just before the British Elections.
Blair has called for his inquiry to report before the Summer recess of Parliament which is in July I believe.
This seems to be a contradiction in interests.
Other news is that the Liberal Democrats, the third biggest party in Britain, have refused to take part in the British Inquiry claiming that the remit
of the inquiry only looks into the Intelligence and not at how that intelligence was manipulated by Blair and his Government.
Without the Lib Dem's input the inquiry is likely to be labeled a whitewash before it even begins.Especially after the debacle of the Hutton Inquiry
which 75% of Britons to be a whitewash.
