Georgia accused of using Sonic Weaponry

This sort of should have gone in the news forum, but it's not such a big deal, so I decided to post it in the weaponry forum.

Today Russian specialists came to a conclusion that Georgia's police force used a sonic (acoustic) weapon on the protestors on the 7th of November.

Some of the police squad vehicles had hexagonal shaped plates that emmited sound waves capable of changing human states. These waves claim to cause immense pain in the eardrums, feeling of loss, fear and panic.

Experts say that the same sonic offensive systems were used by the US in Iraq, and claim that the system was bought from "one of the US companies". The 'gun' emmits impulses that are 1000's of times more intense than those the human organism can stand.

What is this "US company" producing this psycho-affecting weaponry? Isn't that illegal?

After looking at the picture you provided I started to look for sonic weaponry online. It is being used by the police here in the US. I think this might be the company that is making such weapons....here ya go

How exactly do these sonic weapons work? What makes people disoriented and stuff? Is the technology documented in any way? I know it's all about specific soundwaves at specific frequencies interacting with the human body, is there any precise informaiton?

Thanks for opening up my eyes to the news event but I already knew about the weapon and its use in Iraq. Quite in-humane but great for what its made for.
