I have to throw this out here. I am a contractor for the government and after Katrina hit I went to New Orleans. I also went to Pass Christian Mississippi, Long Beach Mississippi, Gulfport Mississippi, and Biloxi Mississippi. I saw just as much devastation if not more from Katrina in the Mississippi towns. In Gulfport and Biloxi all of the Casinos were gone along with everything for miles inland. The flooding added hurt to New Orleans, but the actual hurricane hit other areas just as hard if not harder. I saw it first hand. It gets so frustrating to hear rediculous conspiracies about Katrina and New Orleans. people saying President Bush hates black people and that the government blew the damn to kill blacks is rediculous. There were tons of black people that lost everything in Gulfport, and the other areas. The difference is that over a third of New Orleans was on welfare. Why do you suppose that is? I could give some theories about it but it would just cause anger and there's no point.

And of course there were all those looting black folk shooting at helocopters too! Yeah, these tall tales regarding African American "behavior" after Katrina, are alive and well, currently being used as ammo to sure up support for anti-Obama setiment also with claims of black rioting if he does not win! It is set up this way so we DON'T ask the real questions like why are our civil libertities so easily discarded following a disaster such as Katrina and WHERE THE HELL WAS FEMA! I do agree with the last post on the point of New Orleans was not the only place to get hit! We never hear about anywhere else and you are completely correct portions of coastal Mississippi were descimated! Again that is because we keep people's attention on things like all the looting in New Orleans while meanwhile they are not paying attention to the fact that FEMA is doing an EVEN worse job there!

It is sad that so many of the people in this country are sheep! You know why I am going to vote for Obama because he is NOT a republican! I know that is wrong but I cannot get over the last 8 years! I am a VERY BITTER WOMAN!
