Archivist's Notes: This document records a civilian sighting of a UFO which changed from green to red in color with a short red tail, appearing to climb steeply then fall back down. The sighting took place on 11th June 1949.
Record conclude that it was meteor.

The type of observation is ground visual.

The specifics of the observed object: changing of colors from green to red. Reported also to have had a short red tail.

Object appeared to be climbing sharply and then almost fell straight down.

Sighting took 4-5 seconds in time.

According to the observer the object did not appear to be a meteor because of color and path.

Conclusion: Recorded as Astro (meteor).

This report is similar to others in the area at that time that is probably related the Green Fireball mystery. I think the most intriguing part is that the witness described the object as climbing then falling straight down. This deosn't sound like the typical path of a meteor.
