We are feeding about 15 this year. We always make Thanksgiving Dinner for the Officers that have to work and some people we know that are not as fortunate as us...

Here is what we are having..

Turkey done on the Rotisserie.
Dressing, with Gibblets
Mash Potatoes (Plenty of Lumps)
Gravy
Fried Oysters
String Bean Casserole
Sugar Snap Peas
Rolls
Sweet Potato Souffle' (With Maple Syrup)
Pumpkin Pie (My Wife ROCKS)
Lemon Squares

This is my FAVORITE Holiday..

Good Friends
Good times
Good food

Don't get no better than this...

(Of course with my Diabetes, I have to not eat as much, but what the hey)

So,

What is everyone else having?

Our dinner menu will be pretty simple. The best part is seeing my lovely daughter home from college and getting to hug her.

Roast Turkey w/stuffing

mashed potatoes w/sour cream and cheese

gravy

cranberries

broc/cauliflower (steamed)

pumpkin pie

cherry cheesecake

This what my lovely daugher has requested especially the cheese cake and pie. She likes to take a pumpkin pie fresh from the oven and eat the filling. I've tried putting the filling in a custard dish for her to eat; no she wants the pie. It's not the same unless the pie crust she doesn't even eat is there. Don't ask me.

My daughter owns a restaurant and this Thanksgiving we will open her doors to people that have no one to celebrate with, the homeless, the lonely, and disadvantaged.

We will have:

Fried Turkey
Cornbread Dressing
Giblet Gravy
Fresh String beans with new potatoes
Cranberry Sauce
Pear Salad
Mac-n-Cheese
Garden Salad
Peach Cobbler
Cherry Cobbler
Banana Puddin
Homemade Yeast Rolls and Biscuits

We will also decorate a Christmas Tree with homemade ornaments.

Happy Thanksgiving To All,
Dizzie

Semper,

I prefer to be alone.

Where do you live ?

I might drop by and tell
horror stories from
holidays-past.

Grinning,
Lex

Why do people like to be alone for the Holidays? My dad is the same way, we have to drag him kicking and screaming to Thanksgiving and Christmas - fugitaboutit.

Semper - I'd happily trade some lumpy mashed potatoes for oyster dressing but my husband would be such a baby about it!
