Ok... I got this from my new Guiness book, food for thought

The data (From lowest to highest)

450 picokelvin- ARTIFICIAL, created at MIT

-89.2C- Natural, Antarctica

-37.5C- Natural, coldest water croplets

14.2C- Natural, lowest body temperature

15C- Natural, mean temperature on Earth

49.2C- Natural- Highest temperature on Earth

480C- Natural, surface temperatuer of Venus

3414C- Natural, Melting point- tungsten

5867C- Natural, Boiling point- tungsten

200,000C- Natural, Hottest White Dwarf

15,600,000C- Natural, Center of the sun

2,000,000,000C- ARTIFICIAL, Made by the Z-Machine in Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM, USA

INFINITE DEGREES- NATURAL, Temperature of the big bang.

The first and last two stunned me, artifical 2billion degrees and almost absolute zero? INFINITY!??!

Infinity :S... i hate that word, doesn't make sense at all. How can temperature be infinite? I suppose they could predict that it's googol degrees celsius but... they can't just say that it's infinite.

450 picokelvin is believable...
2bil C seems a bit extreme, that's like 150 times the center of the Sun.
