Archivist's Notes: Russian publication Moskovdkiy Komsomolets article on February 16, 1968 by Vill? Lyustibzrg, Science Editor of the Press Agency
alleges flying saucers and sighting investigated by the United States are myths. Document contain the text of the article which references various
sightings and American supporters of UFO research.
|
This document contains the text of an article published in Moskovsky Komsomolets, a Russian newspaper, stating that there is a belief that the United
States UFO sightings can all explained by common objects or phenomenon.
The growing list of US belief supporters and researchers are attempting to make money from the phenomenon.
It is also the Russian stated belief that the whole UFO topic is also US government propaganda to divert the US citizens interest away from politics
and war questions to UFOs and a plan by newspapers to boost circulation.
|
The article was actually a very straightforward, albeit brief, history of UFO sightings in the United States from a skeptical point of view. Only in
the last paragraphs did the author resort to criticizing US policy and motives. The author claimed that UFO sightings are on a four-year cycle and
always increase on the eve of an American presidential election. There r quite a few people on ATS who have expressed the same idea. Indeed, we have a
new Disclosure initiative. Kucinich saw a UFO. Larry King and CNN seem increasingly interested. If this continues a few months then the article itself
will seem oddly prescient.
