OK, will try this again. (my laptop has this 'touchpad' instead of a mouse, drives me crazy...)
internos, those are some fantastic photos, love 'em! Where can we see more? But, before you tell us that, can anyone tell us why there aren't any
fine resolution pics of la Luna? I know, why prove what we already know, i.e., Apollo relics left behind...but, wouldn't some pics shut down the
likes of Bart Sibrel, et al? Opportunity and Spirit are far smaller than the descent stage of the LM, am I correct? And, of course, they will cast
shadows at appropriate times of 'day'.

Mars rovers links (easy to browse):
Raw data from the rovers
From here you can get to every image that has been sent back from the Mars Exploration Rovers. By clicking on the links below, you will be taken to
raw directory listings of images in folders that show the date the Exploratorium received the image. This may differ from the time the image was
actually taken. You can figure out the real time by looking at the file names and interpreting the "spacecraft clock" code.

To decode the file name, which includes the camera, filter, time, location, and more, see the
README file

I have found a picture and I'm not sure if I am making a fool of myself...(again)
external image
I found this whilst sifting thru a few Nasa Mars photo's and was looking for any large shadows on the ground.
I have the original large photo of the site, this is just a portion of the actual photo.
Maybe it's been posted before tho... is so sorry for the trouble.
As you all can clearly see, the thing is massive, it's shadow was the first thing that made me enlarge this portion of the photo in the first place.

to me it looks like a tower with a pole on the top!
That or a weather station for Mars.

If you enarge that picture you can see that it seems to be some sort of tower.
It stands very high indeed and it has a shiny surface on the top reflecting the sunlight.

Actualy I'm waiting for someone here on ATS who has experience with these type's of pictures to explain (if possible) what it just might be, some
people here have considerable knowledge about Moon & Mars bases, maybe they could (if possible) attempt to explain what exactly it is.

I have had an idea on what it might be.
people on here often talk about a war on mars which is why they now live underground. A possible theory for this object could be an old abandoned
weapon?

questions for the op and other members?
The Mars rover does it take only photographs or can it take movies (mpegs) so to speak, i mean mankind is at the welcome mat of another PLANET
"MARS".
Why is it we (the public in the year of 2008 ) have to put up with static photos that have been through and airbrushed by every department of NASA
before going public "Now wheres the film" ????? if there is film i have yet to see it
personally i reckon they did a better job with the public presentation of the moon! back in 1969 , im sure that there is a film of the surface of
Mars is there anyway we all could see it.... no im not talking mpegs from the tube or the rover trials here on earth. they navigate around the surface
dont they (drive)
and im quite sure their taping every millisecond of it all. makes you think doesn't it is there anyway here on the internet where we can see the
footage
perhaps even live but that i doubt.

Lyrian.
I have a more appropriate avatar for your consideration. The constellation Lyra.
I don't believe this one is in use by another member.
If you get a chance, please post a link to the larger, high res image you refer to. It's difficult to see much in a 55kb jpg.

Could also just be a dust devil on the surface giving off that shadow. I've seen dust devils on Mars so large that they throw dust into the air,
blocking out portions of the ground from the satellite's view. The tracks from these things are sometimes on the order of kilometers long. Very
interesting to see.
This is a perfect example of what I'm
talking about. I hope that it helps as a visual aid. If this isn't a close enough approximation for you, then let me know.

Thanks for your thoughts on this.
If you take that picture and enhance it, you can see that there is no dust devil at work, it is too solid to be that.
