I'm just curious. It doesn't look like a heart. Why is this symbol assoicated with love? When did it first show up?

It's a symbolic representation of female genitalia.

Weird how it became "love" isn't it?

Ahh Its ment to be from the Silphiuma seedpod that is no longer in excistance, I think it was in the shape of a heart and was somehow assosiated with love,

Ill have to have a look up on it again,

Looks like Asala and I might both be a bit off. There's a very interesting scholarly paper here, that says it comes from the ivy leaf in ancient Greece.
