Well, I gotta agree... I'm fairly new here but in my time here I have seen a lot of threads/bashing that make me wonder why I stick around here... but I love it here. I have learned so much even though a lot of times I don't have a lot to contribute. I love the news and a lot of the likeminded thinkers. I can't even remember how I found this site to tell you the truth... it was through the net I know that much(I knew about C2C but never listened to it till I joined here... and whenever I am alone at that time of night I do listen... my fiancee dosen't like talk radio lol.)

I just try to weed through the posts and go to the stuff that peaks my curiosity.

I think that personality plays an integral part in any "Infiltration" assumption...

Just look here..

The account looks perfectly intact. So one can assume it is a password problem or some log in issue that has happened with dozens of members and will always happen on any imperfect system. As there are no perfect systems, we muddle through... I believe that ATS does a fine job of fixing problems being as there are thousands of members and over a million or so hits a day. Thereby assuring us on a continuing basis of their neutrality and lack of infiltration...

If you look for one long enough, you will always find a Boogyman....Especially if you are convinced there is one..

Just my observations would suggest that if there are infiltrators, they don't last long.

I am in the business of "Truth Detecting" and by all accounts, I am considered fairly successful....
I can honestly say that I believe the sincerity of MOST of the members that post on here on a regular basis. Do I believe what they post? OH GOSH NO, at least some of the time; but what I do believe is that THEY believe what they are posting...

An Infiltrator would by his very definition, have to post that which he knows is false. And to be effective he must post a HUGE amount on a site as large as this. I would know if I ran across this; that's what I do, detect the truth.

I'm not saying I am perfect and can not be fooled, far from it. But then neither is ATS, they just have a lot more than one person looking at the posts and watching for such "Infiltrators" and it is their volunteered position to watch for such.

As for the Benefit of the Doubt, have you tried giving ATS that? Or the Moderators? Or the Admin?

Perhaps, just perhaps, they deserve it too..

Remember - ATS is a business... sponsors first, truth second.

Well you have the first bit right, ATS has grown into a "business" of sorts. But seeing as how we have no "sponsors" the last bit is 100% WRONG.

Perfect points.

The site bashing DOES discourage new members.
Remember though it is usually done by new people who are MORE INTERESTED in bashing the site than learning how to navigate it correctly.

It gets frustrating wading through a hoax picture or video thread but, once proved to be hoax, whoever is resposible is outta here.

Here's an easy tip for accessing up to date discussions.

1) Save 'recent posts' page on your favourites
2) Press 'refresh' on your browser

Each post has a link to the department suitable for that topic, which has another list of the most recent posts specialising in that subject.

It really can't get faster than that to get to a topic that suits your interest.

Well here we go again.!!

New threads suggesting a government run ATS because it has a large server and is efficiently run.. to an attack directly on one of the owners themselves.

I am reluctant to link to the threads in question but I am considering doing so in future, thus making the same direct personal challenge that some of these ridiculous threads are.

If the governments run their own affairs like ATS then there would be no NEED for sites like this

You face an international network of contract disinformation experts, organized and led by a Knighted hero of the Kingdom and an internationally acclaimed behavioural dynamics expert.

And sometimes it's just some very smart kid who wants to model himself after Emperor Palpatine www.starwars.com... and try his hand at manipulation of public opinion.

I also think some supposed "disinfo agents" are not deliberate disinfo agents. They truly believe what they claim. Then there are some supposed disinfo agents, who, despite being shown repeatedly where they are wrong, don't subscribe to the same set of "facts" as their debunkers, and automatically sort said debunking in the circular file. Then there are the free thinkers, who regardless of the glaring holes in their info, will continue to maintain their position because to them, their theory has less holes than the official one or they have enough insider information, to nullify (in their minds) the official position. Then there are those who maintain the official position, regardless of anything else.

And of course, there are those who just love to argue (even if they don't believe the position they are arguing for, they will just argue to argue. something to do, i guess.)

Based on these situations, everyone is a skeptic-believer-debunker-disinfo agent.
