Hungry boars in populous eastern China have invaded buildings and terrified tourists, prompting authorities to overturn a hunting ban on the animals, an official and state press said Tuesday.

Story snippet:

The wild hogs have made incursions into hospital dormitories, college kitchens and scenic spots in Hangzhou, capital of China's Zhejiang province, 200 kilometres (124 miles) from Shanghai.

Kinda Scary!

Just goes to show that you should never underestimate the power of nature and the animals we see as largely harmless.

Pity the poor animals are going to be hunted to buggery now.

Maybe they've sided with Princess Mononoke.

Boars are mean, nasty critters. A few years back, my husband and I stayed in a cabin the Texas Hill Country. One afternoon we decided to take a hike on the property, and came across the carcasses of several javelin about a mile from the cabin. They were huge, ugly and each sported a mean set of tusks. Needless to say, we turned back really quick!
