Beijing 'planning space station'

China intends to launch its own space station in 2020, according to one of the country's leading space experts.
Rocket designer Long Lehao told state media scientists were on track to send "a small-scale 20-ton space workshop" into the Earth's orbit.

Now then. John Lear et al promote the school of thought that China is in on some sort of secret deal with the US, not only to stage some sort of future conflict, but also not to reveal details of secret space stations that the US has in orbit, but which China must surely be aware exist.

The question is, does this announcement suggest that their complicity cannot any longer be guaranteed beyond 2020? It's going to get mighty busy up there in orbit with every country you can name having its own space station buzzing around. Won't that make it increasingly difficult for the US to keep up this pretence that they only have one space station up there? Or does this mean that disclosure of its existence is expected before 2020?

Or are John Lear et al barking up the wrong tree in the first place?
