Not sure if this has been covered before, but a while ago a young girl in India was born with 8 limbs. This is actually a "parasitic twin" that
stopped developing in the womb. The healthy fetus absorbed portions of the twin including limbs, organs and nerves. Doctors are currently trying to
separate the child from the "parasite". The girl, named Lakshmi, after the four armed hindi goddess of wealth, has about a 75% chance of survival.
Apparently the girl's parents have had to keep her in hiding after a circus attempted to buy her. It saddens and disgusts me that there are
people out there who would rather exploit this poor young girls challenges for profit than see her have a chance at a somewhat normal life with her
family. My thoughts and best wishes are with them in this time of trial.
