Judging by the picture on the link, that's not exactly a "giant" animal. It looks to be about as big as a medium-sized dog. Bigger than your standard peccary, to be sure, but not giant in a general context.

Hehe, that piggy looks kinda funny.. ^_^

Interesting that it has that long fur, and is quite compact to most other pig-species that i know of.

I don't know why it has long hair, but it wouldn't be as fat as your typical pig because it has to forage for itself, not having a virtually unlimited supply of food that does not have to be worked for as domesticated pigs have, and also because it has to run from predators.

Well, I guess being 'wild' - it's more similar to a Boar than a pig. Still, I wonder what other undiscovered creatures await in the Amazon - providing we don't decimate the place before we get to find them..

Ohhh... I dunnnnooooo. Actually, before they shaved and painted him, he was a standard French Poodle!

Sorry... I just couldn't resist. Seriously, it is quite interesting that we are spending time trying to get to other planets and galaxies and we don't even know all the critters available here on Earth. This doesn't constitute a complaint, merely and observation.
