Another of my favourite shows was One Step Beyond hosted by the mystically enhanced John Newland. It would feature dramatisations of true life paranormal events that occured over the years...

One Step Beyond also featured many up and coming actors like Warren Beatty, William Shatner, Yvette Vickers (Attack of The Giant Leeches), Mike Connors, and many other in well wriiten, acted, and directed episodes...

Some of my favourites were....

Where Are They ? - Showed the incident in Chico, California where falling rocks appeared out of nowhere and smashed up things. Another subplot featured a mysterious man who offers the War Department a unique fuel for only pennies...

The Day The World Wept- Regarding the mysterious events surrounding Abraham Lincolns death...

Brainwave - A Former alcoholic Bell boy has preminitions of the San Francisco Earthquake in 1906

If You See Sally - Dramatises the Vanishing Hitchhiker Urban Legend with chilling results...

Night of Decision - About George Washington's Prophetic dream at Valley Forge regarding America's future...

Night of the 14th - Starring Patrick McNee (The Avengers) whose beloved wife keeps getting nightmares about drowning in icy water night after night. Hubby decides she needs a rest and books a cruise aboard the ...RMS TITANIC !!!

Gypsy - Starring Robert Blake as a convict (HAHAHA) who breaks out of the joint with the help of a convict named Gypsy who has mystic qualities....

The Peter Hurkos Story - featuring the Dutch mystic and psychic who helped solve many a baffling crime...

Lets not forget the classic Magic Mushroom episode which had Newland and several explorers searching for a mind bending mushroom in the wilds of Asia. This is a classic must see with Newland dropping his dapper mystique and getting stoned man !!!

John Newland also directed episodes of Thriller with Boris Karloff, Star Trek, and the TV Movie spooker Don't Be Afraid of the Dark with Kim Darby and Jom Hutton....

I understand Newland passed away some time ago, he will be missed...

Do any others have any memories of this series ?
