Starting today, Wednesday Jan 28th, the US Government is sending cyber terror alerts to those that wish to recieve them. There are already critics of
the new system and concerns that the emails themselves could turn into a problem.
U.S. Government Offers Free Cyber
Alerts

The new National Cyber Alert System will send urgent e-mails about major virus outbreaks and other Internet attacks as they occur, along with
detailed instructions to help computer users protect themselves.
I for one do not see this as a benefit. The Department of Homeland Security is not going to be the first group that receives the virus attatchments.
By the time the alerts reach your email, you will have already been infected or have deleted the offending mail. And those that send out these email
viruses will just spoof the DHS emails to make you think they are trying to help you.
