Could you have use MORE zippy slogans in that little tirade? So we should just let Iran continue on it's path to gaining nuclear weapons without really trying to stop them? It's pretty obvious the UN will not. Who then?

Bombing would be a last resort, but you seem of the thought that it's no big deal if they get atomic weapons and the means to deliver them. I and I must add, a majority of Americans, think the opposite.

Bomb Iran, majority of Americans say

rawstory.com
Despite President Bush's perpetually abysmal approval ratings, it appears his increasingly hostile rhetoric against Iran has drummed up enough fear of a "nuclear holocaust" or a World War III that a majority of Americans are in favor of a US strike against the country aimed a curtailing its apparent nuclear ambitions, a new poll shows.

Sorry, don't believe it. Every other poll I have seen shows the vast majority of americans do NOT want to bomb Iran. I'm guessing that this info came from the PRO-WAR camp. Cheney will say anything to get his WARGASM on.

I have a better question. How many were actually polled? Usually, they only poll somewhere in the neighborhood of 100-1000 people. That's hardly enough to get any kind of a census on what popular opinion is, I think. What would be far more productive is to hold a national debate, much like the ones CNN is holding for the Primaries, where the People are able to ask any representative about anything, or just call in to express their opinions.

That might elicit some change...

The target sample is [1028] interviews with approximately [59] questions asked. Samples are randomly drawn from telephone cd’s of national listed sample.

Big enough sample to draw conclusions from. They seemed to have gotten a fairly representative sample of the political spectrum, Democrat, Republican and Independent.

I don't think you can just call into question poll results you don't agree with. It would be different if it were an online poll from a website with a certain political or ideological leaning. Zogby's methodology is pretty sound for the most part.

I never said that I disagreed with the poll. If you notice, I said nothing about my opinion on the matter of the question. I was merely remarking at the apparent lack of participation to get an accurate sampling. 1028 is hardly enough to account for any kind of public opinion. I'm sorry, but in a nation of 250 Million+ citizens, 1028 is a VERY small minority.

Understood, but most polls are in that range or far fewer people. Amazingly you can extrapolate a lot from such a small sample and apply it to the masses. I would tend to say the results of that poll are a reflection of a cross section of those people polled, which tended to be a pretty representative spread of the American public.
