First off, let me say that I'm posting this ENTIRELY for the news content, not to make some kind of statement or prove some "point".

This article starts off with a little quip just under the headline that says "[Its looks as if America needs to be liberated from Black Racial terrorists! Jan]". While I do find a bit of truth in this statement, the way the statement is made is total ignorance and no better than when Jesse Jackson (the hate monger) says something of the like.

That being that, I am actually surprised that these guys won this case. It's a rare occurrence when members of the white race can when any type of "hate crime" violation suit against members of the black race. I have a feeling that's also the reason this isn't making national news. If it were the reverse, it would have been all over the television right now and Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be out in the streets calling for a revolution in the workplace.

The only thing that makes this news worthy is the race angle. A very similar thing thing happened were I live in the Overland Park Kansas area very recently with a new DA firing most of the staff because he was a democrat and they were backing the republican candidate for Kansas State Attorney General. The staff filed appeals and won for illegal dismissals, but they all had better jobs for the most part, took the money, and said thank you very much.

In politics, this is somewhat the norm. You'll see mass changes when the new prez comes into office from a different party. Sometimes it even makes the news such as Clinton with the Whitehouse travel office or when Clinton fired all U.S. District attorneys. Bush just recently fired only some of them and got some news about partisanship. It happens.

Prejudice is a normal thing whether it be political, racial or religious. The reason I saw this as newsworthy was the fact that I doubt it will EVER make the national news (when the exact opposite situation would be all over it) on any kind of respectable level.

If you will go back and read some of my past threads, you'll see that I am totally against any kind of so-called "racist" agenda crap making the news. However, I do feel that if it's done for one race, it should be done equally for another. Though, I would much rather NEVER have to see Jesse Jackson on my television again. (Or any white hate monger either)

Look at the judgment amount though. Only $3.7 million to cover 36 people? That's awfully low. I bet if it was the other way around, it'd be more than that per person.

This is not unusual at all, there was recently a sheriff down in Georgia who when he took office he fired all white deputies and told them on the spot that they were being replaced with black deputies (the sheriff is black). I think this took place in Clayton County, GA. I believe the white deputies were later restored to their jobs after a huge public outcry.
