WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A U.S. destroyer has entered Somali territorial waters in pursuit of a Japanese-owned ship loaded with benzene that was hijacked by pirates over the weekend, military officials said Monday.

Piracy on the open seas is alive and well in the modern era. I wonder why its taking so long for these destroyers to catch this hijacked ship. I can see Somalia becoming the focal point in the war on terror soon.

news.nationalgeographic.com... this has been going on for a long time espescially in somalia in fact most ships coming through that area are directed not to go within so many miles of the coast and its been spiking in the last couple of years.

To Davy Jones locker then. Arrrrgh! Pillaging and looting was so much easier when armed naval boats aren't giving chase. Nice to see that common sense prevailed and Somalia let the U.S. navy persue obvious villians inside it's waters.
