I'm just curious what it is to everyone else here. For me, I'd have to say the most important thing in a girl is her being extremely feminine.

God, how I love a woman who knows how to be feminine.

Anyway, what is the most important trait in finding a potential lover to you?

You said lover not wife/husband right!

Edit - Sorry - you also said trait: open minded.

Honesty is a must. I could not tolerate an ignorant man so intellegence is top of the list also.

I refuse to sell myself short and settle for one thing. I have a list now:

Honesty
Tactfulness
Sense of Humor
Intelligence
Patience
Faithfulness
Lack of being an abusive jerk

Anyone without all these attributes need not apply.

Must be compatible with me.

Must have a good sense of humour.

Must be my friend.
Must be sincere.
Must be kind and have respect for me.
Must be peaceloving and none of the bipolar stuff, please!!!:shk:
Must be relaxed and comfortable.
Must have all his teeth.

Must be fun to be with and consider me his queen.

Is that too much to ask?

Well having married for love once, I simply refuse to make that error again, so she better have money. I know it sounds mercenary and all but hey love don't pay the bills.

oh wow, I don't have a list. Chucked the list out years ago.

Its good you all even think about it. I can't be bothered at all with it. I was only thinking about it on the way home from work last night.

I now feel the only person that can love me is me.

And I think once you get to that point, why bother to bring someone else in?

Now I just have friends. It is better that way. Even with a list you end up with something you would prefer not to have.

Like I used to say I will have an actual bastard next time, not a lying bastard, cheating bastard, lazy bastard. Just an ordinary bastard will do.

Now I don't even want one of them.

Oh hope bastard isn't considered a swear word here?

AMEN, but you have to
get along too.
I hate chaos.

Well I like to say that tact is overrated . I guess my answer would have to be a mixture of openness , someone who is always frank, good sense of humour and open so that there is nothing that cannot be talked about.

Damm!! I got completely wiped out by the first hurdle, then the rest off then started kicking me as well (apart from the last one. I'm a lot of bad things, but not that!)

Thurisaz...

I was once told that I am the Bastard of all Bastards. ( I drew blackjack 7 times in a row, which would have been great, except I was the dealer, ) This little old rich lady went right off on one!!

Wanna get hitched!! haha

your funny, so a whoot to you.

What do I look for in a potential lover?
Smarts, must be smarter then me (not that hard)
Needs to be political
Emotionaly in check (...the hard one...)
Looks (Kinda a little shallow but who isn't)
.... and the most important trait: Humor (Can't do with out it)

For women, the #1 thing in a man is money and stature.

So if you dont have a good job, a decent car, and lots of cash just adding up to the sound of cash registers in the background.. you will likely have a hard time keeping your mate (female), and if you do keep her, she probably couldn't find anyone to take her away from YOU..

what a crappy existence. :\

and if you never had her, you really wont get her now..

but dont worry, there are alot of late model mercedes benz that are becoming affordable on the used car market.

and there are plenty of G-Baller generic 20" rim makers.. you can get a set of dubs for a couple hundred dollas.

become all you are meant to be .. a budget baller

A few things:
She has to wiegh less then me
Have longer Hair then me
Be intresting, not braindead

and... i don't know what else, i am not picky, just waiting for the right one, no matter what the mold...

I would suggest for guys that you place top priority on her gender. Other than that get a gal that you can laugh with.

I often wonder if that's true.

Must be Interesting, mostly in conversation, and in the bedroom, but the bedroom can be fixed, practice makes perfect...and then some more practice, then again right after lunch.

Must be faithful and trustworthy.

Must have respect for me, and to believe in me.

Must just want to be with me, not for money or stature, or lifestyle.

Must Always be my friend no matter what, even if I do something stupid.[stand by your dumb man thing]

Also must not throw knives, plates, scissors, window screens, or Pepsi's at me. [all have happened, and then some]

I agree with the OP I like girls that act like girls.

DAMN MM!! I didn't know you knew me so well and you make it appear like you aren't after me

Just joking.

I married my best friend. She is honest, loving, caring, intelligent, a good mother, my best friend (STILL), accepting of any failures, gorgeous, has a fantastic laugh, a good sense of humour, loves music, loves ME, is never too busy, communicates well, trusting, always smells nice, not lazy, compassionate and the list goes on and on...

He must have the following:

Brains and know how to use them

Honesty

Sense of Humor

And above all he must be my best friend.

Ehh it isn't really true it just seems that way because guys with money and stature simply tend to have more confidence, and that will attract the women in droves. How do I know this? Because I won my ex-wife and not the millionaire baseball player that wanted her, so yes boys it can be done you just have to be real.
