Would you accept these laws and become a Lawist?

Say yes if you want World Peace.

Im surprised this didnt get any replies whatsoever. You deserve a metal for suggesting this.

While not perfect, the law provides the orientation and ethics that religions do...but without all the uncertainty, room for interpretation and wronging of other beliefs.

I read through this whole naive mess of things and it is for the most part a hodge-podge of religious ideas strung together incoherently.

You get an A+ for effort though. I've provided my comments in-line with this "law":

The Law

1 We must not rely on illogical stories to know the genesis of all life.

Who will establish the guidelines of what is logical and illogical. When steam engines were first invented scientist, through the sound and logical conventions of their craft at the time, advised that people should never be allowed to ride in passenger cars as all the air would be sucked out by the effect of motion vaccuum and they would all die. It was a logical, scientific argument of the day but a preposterously illogical argument today.

2 When we can not find a answer to a question we tend to believe almost anything that is told to us, that is not good.

Then this "Law" has no outlet for creative thought, troubleshooting, or philosophical ideation. If there is no answer for some thing it will inevitably lead to faith. Thus the need for philosophy and religion.

3 It's better to search for the truth than to blindly follow that which you are told.

And by what manner of construction will "truth" be defined. What arbiter will establish what is truth and what is not and who is told what truth is.

4 If there is evidence for a theory then we must take the idea into consideration.

And what constitutes evidence? In a court of law circumstantial evidence is routinely presented and can influence the judge/jury to conviction or aquittal. That same principal is no where in these forums applied as all circumstantial evidence is routinely denied and labeled a hoax/fraud, etc.

5 If these rules are followed, we will have a more accurate answer to our questions.

It would appear so far that if this were followed there would be more death and destruction caused by dissent against questions that are ruled against a differing opinion.

6 If a person without knowledge asks a easy question, do not insult the person that asked the easy question.

The is straight out the Meditations of Marus Aurealius. It doesn't need to be written in law.

7 Answer all questions even if they are the most easy of all questions.

This would be tedious and stressful. What is the punishment for not answering questions?

8 If a person ask a lot of questions that are easy, increase their knowledge.

They should go to school, the library or the internet. Why would this be in a law?

9 If a person is asking a lot of easy questions that he or she knows the answer to, simply answer the question and walk away from them.

The whole concept of 6 - 9 are pedantic and useless in an enlightned society. 6 - 9 are what schools are for to educate.

10 It is better to walk away than to fight.

Violence is always the last resort of a gentleman. Some conflicts can only be resolved by force, either at the individual level or the level of government.

11 If a person fights, there will be more fights.

The essence of the universe is violence. The big bang was a violent act, super novae are violent acts, virii and bacteria invading the body are violent acts, lions killing gazelles are violent acts; from the sub-atomic level to the macro-cosmis level all is violence and it is naive to ignore that fact.

12 Each person attracts into his or her life what he or she does.

You must have got this from one of the many religions that already teaches it.

13 If a person is always fighting, he or she will continue to fight.

This is not a true statement. Once a fight is finished then the fighting stops.

14 If a person is always learning, he or she will continue to learn.

This is not a true statement. Some are incapable of learning from their mistakes and are incapable of proper analytical thought processes.

15 Therefore, do what is good and you will continue to do good.

Jesus, Buddha and a plethora of other religious figures have said this..... your being redundant.

16 If you are lazy, you will continue to be lazy until you put an effort to work.

This is not a true statement. Some people are lazy only on the weekends. They work hard during the week and I don't begrudge them the time off.

17 Thinking is the result of what you have become.

This is not a true statement. Thought processes pre-exist the capability of speech and other human attributes.

18 If you think you are lazy, you will act lazy.

This is not a true statement. See #16.

19 If you think you are evil, you will act evil.

This is not a true statement. Some choices lead to what could be considered the commission of evil (i.e. having to choose between the lesser of two evil actions/thoughts/et cetera). Some times the necessary thing to do is good and other times it is evil.

20 If you think you are good, you will act good.

This is not a true statement. See #19.

21 Thoughts become word and words become actions therefore, always think good thoughts.

Jesus said this you paraphrased it.

22 Do not focus on what you do not desire, focus on that which you desire.

Jesus said this too..... you're plagarising other material that is a whole lot better then this "law".

23 Attracting things into your life by what you do and attracting things into your life by thoughts is called “attract”.

Read the ten commandments it is a more cogent ideation (do unto others for you religiously challenged).

24 If you have a positive attract you will have a happy, healthful life.

Again, basic christian concept here.

25 When you are stressed, sit down and focus on your breathing.

Jeez, now we're into the yoga.......

26 This is called “relaxation meditation”.

YOGA!!!!!!

27 If you sit down and focus of one thing, you will attract it into your life.

More yoga.

28 Within dreams, there is a reality and within reality there are dreams.

New age mumbo-jumbo.

29 Within the universe there are living things and within living things is the universe.

Stolen from the Hermetic Axiom (Hermes Trismegestus)- as above so below as below so above.

30 Within life there is energy.

Basic new-ager philosophy here.... it should be readily apparant to anyone who is even slightly englightned.

31 Within energy there is life.

See #30.

32 All things are energy so all things are whole.

Incorrect deduction. The state of Universe is duality, therefore nothing is "whole" everything is separated by the proncipal of duality. Together a duality creates a whole.

33 If all things are whole, God is whole.

Jesus already said that.

34 God is within everything and everything is within God.

Ummm. Jesus said that too.

35 If you do evil things, evil things will be done to you.

See the Ten Commandments please.

36 If you do good deeds, good deeds will be done for you.

See #35.

37 If someone hits you, walk away.

Jesus said that too.

38 If someone hates you, love them.

Jesus said that too and a whole bunch of others as well.

39 If someone loves you, honor them.

Jesus said that too........ Jeez this is pathetic.

39 If someone loves you, honor them.

Jesus said that too........ Jeez this is pathetic.

40 Do not be attached to material items.

Jesus said that too.

41 If someone asks for something, give it to them if it's for a good cause.

Jesus said that too.

42 It is better to give than to receive.

Another Jesus hijack.

43 It is better to make others happy than to be happy however, it is best for all to be happy.

Nonsensical statement.

44 If you kill, you will be killed.

Live by the sword - die by the sword..... it's in the Bible already.

45 If you lie, you would be lied to.

Just word playing with the Bible..... very unoriginal.

46 If you steal, you would be stolen from.

see #45

47 If you curse, you will be cursed.

See #46

48 I you bless, you will be blessed.

see #47

49 If you make others sad, you will be sadden.

see #48

50 If you make others mad, you will be madden.

John Madden?

51 Therefore, treat all people equal; man and woman, and people of other nations.

Already in the Bible.....

52 Treat others how you would want to be treated.

Already in the Bible.....

53 Following these rules would make you and all around you happy.

Already in the Bible........

54 It is not good to be angry, do not get angry or stress.

Ummmm..... this is impossible really. Anger is built into the system. It is an outlet for frustration. Keep anger bottled up inside and you're bound to kill people for no reason.

55 Always be happy but if you are holding stress in release it through doing positive activities.

And who defines what positive activities are eh?

56 If you are sad, cry, but throughout life laugh more than cry.

If you're life sucks you'll be doing a lot more crying than laughing guaranteed.

57 Life is full of changes so it is best to adapt, be able to let go of the past.

Those who forget the past are bound to repeat it.

58 The future can always be changed to fit your desires however, it is better not to have too many desires at once because it will create sadness or make you unsatisfied.

Buddha said this......

59 To get rid of addiction, go into a deep relaxation meditation.

more yoga

60 To get rid of obsession, go into a deep relaxation meditation.

even more yoga

61 If you are poor, focus on being rich.

this contradicts # 58, 59, and 60...... focusing on riches will lead to striving which will lead to sadness.

62 If you are lazy, focus on being active.

What if you like being lazy?

63 If you are shy, focus on being social.

What if you are naturally anti-social and like being alone?

64 If you are unhealthy, focus on being healthy.

What if you are physically unable to be healthy?

65 If you have a question to answer, use logic.

I agree but most people are hopelessly void of the capability to be logical.

66 If you critic, criticize nicely.

No.

67 If you make a mistake, move on and learn a lesson.

This contradicts #57.

68 If you lose, do not lose the lesson.

Nonsensical statement.

69 Never give up on your biggest desires.

this contradicts # 58, 59, and 60...... doing this will lead to striving which will lead to sadness.

70 Meditate daily and relearn the hidden abilities.

Nothing is hidden.... unless one is stupid.

71 If you follow the law, you will be a lawist.

This lawist stuff is BS. (Capital BS)

72 You do not have to go through a conversion.

This contradicts #6, 7, 8, and 9.

73 The law is for all people of all nations.

You read too much Crowley. See Liber Al vel Legis (for you philosophycally handicapped)

74 When all follow this basic law, we will have a world of peace.

There will never be peace without war. It's like saying let's just have some Yang and obliterate Yin. You can't have one without the other.

75 For now, an attract of world peace so that it will soon be amongst you.

See # 74.

Too many rules for my own liking.

You guys can go and make your new religion, i'll just sit back and watch what happens.

Euclid, it might have been better for you to post more specific rules, if you wanted to disagree over any of them it would have been better to bring them up one at a time - people will look at that and wonder whether or not you even want to discuss this.

Pick one, discuss, Move on.

The world ain't gonna end if you don't post it all at once.

It is to complex, I go with the anarchistic law of the will: there is no law; love is the law, love under will. Complimented by Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law!

Many misunderstand this, and think they can do what the will, but it means, at least in my interpretation that you can do what you will; as long as it does not interfere with anyone else or make anyone else do something against their will...
