They were protesting against what they believe is the Israeli government's use of its considerable lobbying influence on Capitol Hill to try to thwart the bill which would mean US recognition of the genocide in which 1.5 million Armenians, including Mrs Kevorkian's parents, died.

Is it just me, or is the only genocide that's supposed to matter the genocide of the Jews at the hands of Hitler and his crew?

Wouldn't you think that a people who had suffered this fate would be supportive of others that had suffered the same one?

Even when you think of the holocaust of WWII, you only hear about the Jews that died. What about the gypsies and handicapped? What about the others that were specifically targeted? Are their lives not just as important?

The Armenian genocide actually inspired Hilter's genocide of the Jews. Hitler is quoted as saying "Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?", implying that Turkey got away with their genocide, therefore it should be easy for the Germans to do the same.
