Dont worry about it, heres a quote from another post I made in a WW3 scenario thread..

"We are a very resilient Nation and will bounce back accordingly.
Every Nation has their ups and downs, just like people and its during your down times that you learn who your true friends are.
Dont worry, were also a very forgiving Nation and in a few years all of this hatred thats being directed at us will be forgotten by everyone involved, including us.
Well, maybe not towards the French, I never liked them

Someone mentioned statistics. Here are some numbers from a poll, showing a distinct decline in nearly every single country polled.

pewglobal.org...

I read once that in part, what the problem is, is a preceived hypocrisy of the USA. Many people idealize the US and the lofty values of our origins and are disappointed when we end up doing some of the things that we've done in other countries.

Hell, I'm disappointed when we do some of the things that we've done in other countries.

You are abosolutely right when you say that America's worst enemies are right at home, stateside, (and living in some very fancy addresses.)

Astrology buffs will understand the character of the USA very well. The astrological sign of the US is Cancer, (born on the 4th of July!) and, what do you know, the astrological sign of the president is also Cancer.

People and countries born under the sign of Cancer, the crab, are characterized by sideways movement. Shakespeare said it best, "by indirections we find directions out". They appear to be sly and tricky, but it is because they are unsure and tentative. Treaties and alliances are easily dropped if the situation dictates a change of direction.

All kinds of subtle subterfuges and feints are the order of the day in order for Cancer, sensitive Cancer, to avoid confrontation and possible insult. Thus we have proxies fighting clandestine wars all over the place and many masks of amity.

Cancers love authority and like to appear authoritarian and strong, but this is a mask. When it comes time to "pay a price" they are too soft and sensitive to suffer the cost. Remember Vietnam? Remember Iraq?

Cancers are moody, sulky and pouty. They do not like criticism. I'm taking my ball and going home now because people are not being nice enough to me. That note can be heard often in the history of US foreign policy.

Cancers are not known as an intellectual sign although they operate in the intellect. It's a subtle distinction, but regardless, the result of that is a tendancy to take shortcuts and not play by the rules. At the worst, think criminal behavior. The (lol) "War on Drugs" is a classic example of a Cancer style solution to a difficult problem. Think, feints, frauds, masks, indirections, and criminal behavior by our favorite Cancer nation.

On the plus side, Cancers are sensitive, nurturing and generous. They are very symbiotic and make great homemakers.

If you are in a symbiotic relationship with a Cancer, and I've got news for you, rest of the world, you are in a symbiotic relationship with a Cancer, tread carefully to avoid problems.

Praise Cancer to the skies and you will be showered with blessings. Make trouble for Cancer and you face a long war of attrition. There are not many nations in this world who stand as tall as a giant killer like Vietnam.

One last thing. America being intensely symbiotic is addicted to the rest of the world. They may want to pick up their marbles and go home but they can't and won't ever do it. America is stuck with who they are and so are the rest of us. With wisdom we can all have a great time together.

Too bad you're trying to ignore things the way they are. The United States is far from having the highest standards of living in the world.

And I know they have foreign aid. Same as most other countries. And that can be applauded of course. Don't think I'm ignoring that. But it doesn't weigh up against the catastrophes caused by foreign policy to those very people they're helping with foreign aid. Use your common sense and suspend you patriotism to see what your government and those who sponsor your government are doing to people across the world and to yourself.

My opinion is that it was done all in time, wars after wars, playing the cop of the world, and too much pride.
Pride is good to a level, after that it becomes ugly, sort of look at me, ...no,really look at me, I'm the center of the universe.
You guys don't really understand other cultures and their way of life, it's a social barier, and a way of thinking.

I was looking at the NFL presentation in europe, with a gigantic robotic
figure that was suposed to be an american football player, it was horible,
you advertise everything, some not all even advertise their souls, too
much reallity shows turned america in to a gigantic hamburger with over rated ingredients, I liked the 60's america and the 70's america and the 80's where people were some how diferent there.

I guess it's not only the wars and the cop playing role, it's a social barier, another problem is that americans just talk but don't do anything to solve problems when some people from their country chosse to toy with the world as they please, and of course people do hold you acountable because when GWB does something he does it in the name of america,
he states....god bless america and then he gives some orders then a bunch of incocent people are killed while you people don't do anything.
Also the marines and the soldiers in iraq were part of your civilian population, it means they were part of you, the population..your tax dolars are serving as a killing machine,so as long as you don't do anything to solve this problems people will hold you accountable of course morally and not any other way..I guess people will continue to dislike you as long as you don't do anything, for hitler the whole german nation was held accountable, they were just folowing orders and paying their taxes.

You got a president with natzi family past , with a grand grand father serving hitler on the plate.

By the way to make this legit.. it's not about me, it's about why some people don't like you, I don't blame you, but I don't blame them either.
On a personal level I think people there are responible for the out going of your foreign policy and actions, and you should fix it, because you elected them, the diference betwen me and others is that I don't think avrege
americans have bad intentions, I just think that they just don't care.

Jasn, Great topic please bare with my humble opinion. First of all I was born and raised in the US. I have chosen to leave it and live elsewhere due to its continued desire to not correct its ways.

The history of the US and its policies towards other nations and its means to get what it wants, has been the same for well over a century. "Remember the Main" was the cry for war against Spain. However it was "we" who sank the ship so that we could get the Philippine Islands.

"We" allowed Pearl so that "we" could blame Japan and enter WWII. Now lets not forget Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf war and now Iraq...shameful.

As for ignorance, yes that can be stated but for reasons that are the same for the US citizen as well. The gov feeds the people a line of lies regarding other people and we/they buy off on it.

Jealousy, well look at the way we are depicted in the movies (everyone has lots of money) and Disney World (everything is easy and fun and games). Of course we know that this is not true but they do not. Though far too many people in third world countries only know this about America.

People in the US are told that it is the greatest country on Earth and it has the best of everything. Sorry to disappoint my fellow Americans but I have more access to more products that are better in quality and lower in price.

My standard of living is better than I had in the US. Crime is extremely low. It is safe for a young lady to walk by herself after dark without fear of being attacked. There are no shootings, road rage or bombings. I have no fear of going anywhere I want in town by myself. Try that in any major city in the US. The city I live in has over 1 million people.

In regards to being the world's policeman. I have no problem with this as long as we remember that a policeman's job is to serve and protect the public. I just don't see the US serving and protecting lately. More like bullying and murdering. This is just my opinion and nothing more.

Well first I must applaud you. Ive always said its a free country and you are free to leave. you did more then talk you did it. On a personal level I think you made a mistake but that is a personal opinion.

I feel I must correct you on one point tho. Not every war the US has gotten into is a conspiracy. some times things really are the way they are told. you make it sound as if we are the war mongering pigs that others talk of.

Guess what it really isn't true we really are not. when I say we I am talking about average American Joe and Jane not the US government. We are America the government is not America. That I guess is something you never got that I believe is why you moved away from your birth home. you viewed us as them. So I applaud you as being very brave and at the same time feel it is opinions like yours that is the problem.

And to all I say again. Not every thing is a conspiracy. if you keep looking for the dark you become blind to the light.

First of all I did not mean to sound like all the wars were conspiracy's, though with a little research one finds that not all we are told is as our history books state. This is true of every nation not just the US.

You are quite right in regards to the American people...no one wants war except Washington and Washington is not the people.

I hope that you do not think that I am an American that points his finger at Washington but never served his country. I severed her for 26 years and two wars - retired Vietnam vet. I guess you can say I just got tired of being lied to. So I live in another country as an ex pat and saddened by the fact that our boys are dieing in Iraq so that some war mongering pigs in Washington can get rich.

In Vietnam we died so the rich could get richer and not to free our yellow brother from the "evils of communism". But that is another topic and I don't want to talk about it.

I do value your opinion, for without opinions how could we ever progress to a better world for our children.

Off topic reply: Well where I am right now might not be such a good idea. If the US decides to go fists to cuffs with Iran then you can bet Russia and China will get involved. Currently I live and work in China.

on topic: The people of China do not hate Americans and really like having American people come to visit, work and live here. Their ideas about America however, is shaped by our movies and adds. Thus no real clue.

As I stated in an earlier post, they are fed a line of lies about us just as we are about them. Neither of which are true.

The Chinese people are not poor and still running around with rickshaws. You name it they got it. When was the last time you saw a 760iL BMW in the US? They have plenty of them. They pay cash for their cars, home, TV's everything. When was the last time we could do that?

I do not live in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong or even Shenzhen. Those areas are even more prosperous. I guess what I am trying to say is that the Chinese people are like American people, as a people they are good people. Working hard and want the best for their kids.

There is nothing to explain. It is very simple.

Why do i keep finding that the most badly informed people i meet are always so confident about how simply the solutions are? Coincidence?

Ignorance ... means that they don't understand or know the facts about America.

What the American national security state has done around the world has made America every one's business and those organizers and leaders who have been successful have understood the role of imperial powers in their daily oppression.

They hate what they THINK America is - but they don't really know what it is because they are either too brainwashed with anti-American rhetoric or they are stupid.

So they get the wrong picture about America but what do you expect when 'America' bombs or starves them into oblivion while raining it's propaganda on them through their extensive control of the international media?

Jealousy - means exactly that. They want what America has but they can't have it because they are too busy screwing up their own countries.

I would very much to blame each country for their own problems but knowing what the CIA and us state department , and on a few dozen occasions armed forces of the US, have done so far i find that impossible to do. When the US stops intervening in every country that tries to change in the way it wants you can start leveling such accusations but until then it's either j ignorance of reality or just agreement with the policy that US interventions are in fact intended to 'help' other countries and just consistently and coincidentally, have the opposite effect.

Failed socialism. Failed communism. Failed shira law.

Sure we can't blame everything on the US government but i can prove that it's operational wing ( who really gives the orders and where they heed from i can but speculate on) have been responsible for the majority of the wars and genocides of the last sixty odd years.

America IS BETTER. They know it. Deep down they know it. They are jealous because they can't have it so, like little school girls, they bad mouth what they can't have.

Americans don't actually believe America to be better as they have consistently campaigned for and believed the promises of their officials that they will get more benefits and be better protected from capitalistic excess. If you wish to argue that Americans don't know that western Europeans already have most of things they keep fighting for then your making a argument suggesting that your fellows are merely ignorant of what happens in the rest of the world.

All simple. Nothing is needed to be explained.
The anti-Americans can't stomach the truth but here it is -
Jealousy and ignorance. Nothing more.

Why is a fanatics world views always so simple? Do you think it has more to do with them being very badly informed or more to do with the fact that they believe they are being well served by their beliefs?

At least your for free speech, or is this a question of religion!? Maybe we can yet help you.

I wish we'd cut off all foreign aid.

So do most of the world who get shot to bits with what that aid can ONLY be used to buy!

I wish we'd cut off all our foreign trade.

That's very generous and if your willing to start organizing for such a program you will have my support.

Let the world TRY to get along without us. (they wouldn't get far)
Let 'em wallow in their own muck and ignorance for a good long time.

OUT

I think most of those countries that have become 'involved' ( and rarely by their own choosing) would pay the US , and some like SA and others already do, to become uninvolved but since this is not about money and wealth but about controlling people there is little chance that the US national security will of their own volition will leave the people of the world to their own devices. We would not be so lucky...

After this dudes post, do you really still need to know why you are hated ?
The world DOESNT want you help, your help is for your own benefits. Your faith brings death and you all follow each other blindly around like the worlds police. Most Americans are arrogant because they never leave the USA and know nothing about other cultures, when you do eventually travel, you walk around like the cats pajamas and crap on the little guys. This is why the enmity exists, nevertheless, this war on terrorism is going to straighten everything up, because now the true Americans are standing up and realising that the war is a domestic one, not a foreign one.

9/11 has changed everything - strangely for the better, and I know that sounds horrible, but if you look carefully... it has woken you all up, you are realising how you have been lied to and controlled. So sad that we need terrible tragedies in our lives in order for us to hold the wheel and drive. But this tragedy has been for the good. To the point where at least Americans are now asking the question that you have just asked, and asking it genuinely.

P.S FlyersFan, If you cut off foreign trade you would be in a lot of trouble, Who do you think makes all the stuff that is IN your country ? Americans ?? ... doubt it, your labour is too expensive, you make the 3rd world countries assemble your stuff in order for it to be cheaper for your people. So you can have cheap shoes, some poor chinese kid is making them all day long and getting paid 5 cents for it. Sleep well at night ?
Do you think you get your gold and diamonds from your own soil >? what about your oil ? Go ahead, cut off foreign trade, but make sure you build your little oil Railway from Iraq before you do it, otherwise you guys are gonna be flintstoning it around in your Dodges.

Ultimately, its not your guys fault, you're being controlled the same way we all are, Americans just need to travel outside of America a little more, nothing good comes from living life with blinkers on. Travelling is the single most beneficial experience a person can have, it is truly eye-opening. In the same breath its easy to understand why people dont leave America - what a beautiful country, you have practically everything. High mountains, awesome beaches, deserts, snowy peaks, rocky hills... its sort of like a mini earth... in a odd kind of way.
