What would you say to a potentially good professional employer

Who wanted you to sign into a two year contractual agreement?
It is a home medical services provider. I am a bit confused and have not experienced this kind of criteria before.

I'd ask if depending on performance if you would get the contract extended or is that it, 2 years? I'm sure its extendable but you certainly wouldnt be out of line asking.

Its ok to ask in a tactful way and not frowned upon by the employer. Heck, again, very tactfully tell him/her to explain since you have not encountered this before.

I used to hire and fire at a publishing company and beleive me, i had more respect and interest for those who asked questions.
