Hiya Thomas,

I am sorry for my bad language, its just that I am getting sick of people defending Bush, I really am and thats what makes me pissed. I shouldn't degrade a post like this but sometimes it gets the better of me.

If you defend something do it for the right reasons and not out of a sense of patriotic duty.

Don't sweat it, we all go over the edge and have to fight like heck to hang on at times.

I defend nothing as a patriotic duty but the Articles of Conderation, contitution, Bill of Rights, and the KJV 1611. Humans are fallable, and the politicians are coming off the starting blocks pre-flawed.

It may seem I defend Bush at times, but the fact is I fight the assumptions, baseless allegations and biased hate. The disagreements in this thread have been points of issue, not the president, for the most part.

Logical conversation with facts sprinkled in from time to time go much farther than anything else. Whether any of us like to admit it, none of us are dead-on-the-money correct about any of the topics, wouldn't you agree? I hate to agree to it, but I think that's the truth.

Anyway, on with the debates, and may the truth be the victor!!

Amazing that anything I write is intelligable since I failed typing 2nd semester twice.
Not my fault, though, since back in "the day" the typewriters were manual and the sound had the same effect as rain on a tin roof. I slept better in class than in my bed!

Being an American, to paraphrase Mr. Twain, " Is to support your country all the time, and it's government when they deserve it". Get a couple of years on ya, and you'll understand that.
Thomas, that I.H. issue is popping up again: The USSC over ruled the FLSC on the select county recount...good move. They stopped the statewide recount...bad & partisan move. Go to the 14th Amendment and read it.

Here it is:
Amendment XIV

Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.


Again, Logic:
"Now, in the equal protection cases I've seen, the aggrieved party, the one who is being harmed and discriminated against, almost invariably brings the action. But no Florida voter I'm aware of brought any action under the equal protection clause claiming he was disfranchised because of the different standards being employed. What happened here is that Bush leaped in and tried to profit from a hypothetical wrong inflicted on someone else. Even assuming Bush had this right, the very core of his petition to the Court was that he himself would be harmed by these different standards.

But would he have? If we're to be governed by common sense, the answer is no. The reason is that just as with flipping a coin you end up in rather short order with as many heads as tails, there would be a "wash" here for both sides, i.e., there would be just as many Bush as Gore votes that would be counted in one county yet disqualified in the next. (Even if we were to assume, for the sake of argument,! that the wash wouldn't end up exactly, 100 percent even, we'd still be dealing with the rule of de minimis non curat lex--the law does not concern itself with trifling matters.) So what harm to Bush was the Court so passionately trying to prevent by its ruling other than the real one: that he would be harmed by the truth as elicited from a full counting of the undervotes?"

That we are two years down the road and you STILL have not opened your eyes to the above travesity of American Justice and how an Oligarch Ruling Family called in it's vouchers to their Supreme Court appointments in a state run by a family member, is a sad statement to your Partisan over Patriotism perspective. Some interesting info about WW1 and WW2 that most tend to forget.

First WW1, I was shocked to learn was our most devastating war. In the approximately 3 months of fighting we had more killed than in Vietnam, and more permanently wounded than died for the Union in all the Civil War. 50,000+ dead 330,000+ wounded.

WW2, While we had 16 million men in Uniform, only 11 million were in the Army. Of that many men, approximately 1/6th of every soldier actually saw combat, the rest were behind lines, logistics personell, or some other desk job.

That means about 1.85 million or so actually fought WW2 against the Germans, of which approximately 250,000 were killed, and another 200,000 wounded. Totalling up to 1 out of 10 men in combat dying and another 1 in 10 being wounded and no longer combat effective (lost limb or serious gun shot). This figure doesn't include the men who died later due to complications of their wounds back in the states. And this figure also doesn't include the thousands that would die to take every mile long island in the pacific. Tarawa is the most infamous, the first 3,000 men to hit the beach were all killed. That means that even an hour later, while the landings were still going on, if you weren't number 3001 you had no chance.

People bash America so easily and they are Extreme Liberalists so easily, because they don't have a DAMN clue what any American, whether your ancestor, or your friendly neighbor, did for them.

Americans today have little sense that any soldier deserves any credit, especially for Vietnam, and WW2 is too long ago, that those who fought there might as well be dead to the public's eye. And let's not speak about WW1.

The rest of the World, easily forgot what we did for them because so quickly after WW2, the Soviet Union became America's enemy, but the rest of the world saw no problem with them. The Arabs bought all their equipment from the Soviet Union, almost all of Europe was socialist anyways, so only Germany had any real looming threat against them, and they all percieved the threat of the Soviet Union, as a threat because American Troops were stationed in Europe.

If the Soviet Union did not exist, or if after germany all the world banded together to also destroy the Soviet Union, I bet you that no one would be "Anti-American" because everyone would see our good without the blinds pulled down by economic ideologies.

Plz dont make me laugh, to think that he actually made those speeches.
A great leader would march right into battle with his soldiers.
From the looks of it, bush would march right in with an empty gun with its saftey still on.
