Cheney: US will not let Iran go nuclear
news.yahoo.com
LEESBURG, Va. - The United States and other nations will not allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon, Vice President Dick Cheney said Sunday.
"Our country, and the entire international community, cannot stand by as a terror-supporting state fulfills its grandest ambitions," Cheney said in
a speech to the Washington Institute for Near East Studies.
He said Iran's efforts to pursue technology that would allow them to build a nuclear weapon are obvious and that "the regime continues

To hell with bush minor, Dick Cheney scares the bejesus out of me.
Yet despite his claims the IAEA says that there is no evidence that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons.
So who do you believe? A UN agency or the vice president with a known track record of fear mongering?

Still... after Iraq... If Iran is not going after nuclear weapons...with the drumbeats from this administration, I bet they are now.
This administration is this country's own worst enemy.

I wonder sometimes. I fear that they know exactly what they are doing, and do not care.

I just read the article and was going to post it, but i guess you beat me to it... anyway, this is just another piece of evidence that we will go to
war with Iran. Its so obvious that anyone who denies it is living under a rock.... even if Iran discontinues their quest at becoming a nuclear
country, we will find some way to make it look like they have nukes. If you don't think that in 5 years from now America and Iran will be at war,
then you aren't paying enough attention.

with the people of iran and only the people hope bush gets into his head a attack will be a mistake that will go down in the history books.

Bush and Cheney need to start saying, " 'WE' (Bush & Cheney) won't let Iran go nuclear", instead of "The US won't let Iran go
nuclear".
They are the ones bullying Iran in what seems like acts to try to start a war, NOT the rest of the US.
The use of some good diplomats would sure help here, but, alas, that is not Bush's way.
I have no problem with Iran building nuclear power plants, nuclear weapons in there hands is a little worrisome though.
If Iran does happen to build a nuclear bomb and can launch them in missles, why couldn't the US put up our missle defense systems around Iran,
assuring they could not expect to launch a nuclear bomb and have it reach its intended target?

Manzoor,
I believe the administration 'want' them to strike back.
This would justify a serious escalation in aspects.
We went into Iraq, and Iraq did as little as fire a bb gun at us..
Had they of been a formidable enemy, we would of carpet bombed the place.
If we strike Iran's nuclear facilities..
and they retaliate... we will lable them as terrorists.
This will then give us justification to obliterate them.

Sadly that is the attitude most of the world has about the United States.... and its our own doing... we let the bastards get away with it.
If there were any justice bush minor and company would have been drawn and quartered by now... not reelected to do more damage.

Does anyone have a list of these other nations that Cheney is talking about? I think that will have a huge impact on what everyone thinks about this
topic. Until I know that i'm keeping my mouth shut.

IM behind Bush and Cheney 100% on this one and i know a LOT of folks who are as well. Unfortunately most of them have lives outside of the internet
and dont lurk on boards such as this one like i do, but rest assured folks, there is PLENTY of support. Iran will get theirs if they dont cooperate.
They are being given plentl of chances so when this thing does happen, please folks dont act like its out of the blue or something. This talk has been
going on for 2 years now and its time for action.
Have fun!!!

There would have to be something to get congress to support this. I just can't see them giving the go ahead without some sort of big reason. I would
hope they would have learned from Iraq and the WMD deception pulled off against them that the current executive branch of the US can't be really
trusted.

Most Americans, including many here, are blind to the bubble of propaganda that they are living in. And as long as they are fat and docile with faux
news, mal-warts and "reality" TV shows to keep them cross eyed and painless... nothing will change.
