Spell check on the forum?

Topic started on 21-10-2007 @ 04:46 PM by CX

Is it possible to get a spellcheck at the bottom of the posting page?

I know some people are quite hot on this and use an outside spellchecker, but i've seen many forums that have this incorporated in thier site.

Am i asking something that is too much hassle? Have we already got one and i've missed it?

CX.

When this was asked before the answer was no because it would put too big of a load on the server or something like that.

Each user can just install this, it works great!

Someone here pointed it to me, now I can actually spell!

toolbar.google.com...

And has no bandwidth overhead.

Apparently that google toolbar isn't compatible with vista. according to the website.

System requirements:
• Windows XP/2000 SP3+, Mac OS X 10.2+, or Linux
• Firefox 1.5+
• Internet Explorer version available here

Also available:
• Other Firefox extensions from Google

Firefox works great. It found 2 misspelled words in this post but it's flagging "toolbar" and "google" ???
Now if Firefox would include a grammar check! That would be nice !

Hi Hikix, Pretty funny! I used the Google spell check function on the toolbar to correct what you had written and it corrected all but the AUTOMATIC and I had to choose that. Pretty cool I guess??!

Just get Firefox, works good enough for most people. You can also add words to the dictionary and etc. So it's quite handy.

If you don't want to get Firefox, here's a spell checker for IE.

It's always worked extremely well for me.

www.softpedia.com...
