SOUTH BEND — It wasn't a fleeing suspect who attacked four police officers sent to investigate a burglary report at a garbage-filled vacant
house — it was a swarm of fleas.
The bug barrage was so overwhelming that the patrolmen had to be decontaminated.

That's disgusting!
I've always had dogs and been keenly aware of the first sign of fleas.
My little dog named Tic was very allergic to them and she would have a terrible reaction to even one bite, poor thing.
In fact I named her sister Flee because when I found her as a pup she was covered with them.
Flea got out before I had her spayed, got knocked up and had one pup who I naturally named Fly.
They were my three girls, Flee, Fly and Tic.
I sure miss 'em.
I think Frontline, the anti-flea and tick solution, is the greatest thing ever devised for pet lovers.
......
But I digress.
I'll bet the cops back at the station were just itching to rib these guys.
And considering all the good-natured abuse these four cops are going to receive, I'll bet that's only scratching the surface.
