LOS ANGELES -- Reuters is reporting that NASA geologists are excited about the sight of an outcropping of what appears to be exposed bedrock near the Opportunity lander. Scientists are calling the landing an "interplanetary hole-in-one" when describing Sunday's landing site.
Reuters.co.uk Much of Opportunity's landing zone appeared darker in colour and draped in fine-grain red and grey soils devoid of the rocks and boulders littering other areas on Mars, and Squyres said his team was still debating the composition.
