Some cool news about the CELL.




Khanna says that his gravity grid has been up and running for a little over a month now and that, crudely speaking, his eight consoles are equal to about 200 of the supercomputing nodes he used to rely on.

It's good they found another use for it I guess since the games are so slow to come out and most are originally developed on the much easier XBOX360 developmnent tools.


Another bonus, it is much more reliable than the overheating 360.

You definitely can't go out and buy the equivalent PC for the cost of the PS3.

Heh, I always like to see gaming technology used for actual work purposes. It's quite amusing. Reminds me of how my brother, who is a computer programmer, has used Xbox360 technology, as well as the Unreal Tournament engine, to do projects at work in 3D graphics. Sometimes people find uses for something that the original developer never intended.
