The second-highest ranking member of the Air Force’s procurement office was found dead of an apparent suicide at his Virginia home Sunday, Air Force and police officials said today.

The official, Charles D. Riechers, 47, came under scrutiny by the Senate Armed Services Committee earlier this month after the Air Force arranged for him to be paid $13,400 a month by a private contractor, Commonwealth Research Institute, while he awaited review from the White House of his appointment as principal deputy assistant secretary for acquisition. He was appointed to the job in January.

those crazys running the show in washington know they only have a small window to do there worst...i think they will try something..and these deaths are news that it is coming soon..we..the common people can do nothing but watch..WW3,..could be right around the corner..and all for israel and oil..pretty stupid when the world could be burning water for there power....ahem..hydrogen..but that is another thread.......i guess pull up a chair and watch foux news lead us into the fire..

So I go looking. It would seem that buddy is in fact "no longer of this world". Got one side says, source is no good and the other seemingly not attempting to do anything but inform.

Well if he is dead... he was very young. He was being questioned about procurement according to the the Washington Post and like 15 other MSM and near MSM. Has the person of disrepute "raked something less than muck" before? Oh, I can think of a couple of dillies... Is this an "OP"?

Number two guy who buys stuff for the Air Force. Um, what's wrong wish "this" picture? Maybe "nothing", yeah that it, "nothing", My Wife Morgan Fairchild... No there's something wrong; the number two procurement dude for the Air Force of the most powerful country on this face of this entire planet is dead. Not sleeping - DEAD.

Please tell me this isn't so. If it's not true fine OK. Oscar-Kilo. If true I can't really say I trust The United States of America to perform with competency in selecting MIC deal-makers. Either way to a non-American I think it not unreasonable to a have a concern. Does this happen often?

I can't wait to here how this turns out. Pre-existing medical conditon, depression, therapy,"family trouble", secret alternative-lifestyle - I expect something like that. I will be disappointed if the don't try and sell that in the news and make a reality series out of it. Ice-cubes to Inuit.

Umm... if you really read you'll find out he was in procurement and caught taking bribes. Not a bad reason to take your own life as an alternative to looking at a long, long time in military prison.

Please expand on that was he really dirty?

Like I said to a non-American (I don't care what your nationality is BTW) this looks like powerful people in the US aren't to be trusted for mental stability or in business. Maybe a whole lot worse if one has a potentially conspiratorial mindset. Please expand for me I want to know. What data do you have that I may not?

I suppose it's possible that someone killed him to cover up a larger financial conspiracy, but to tie this to any attack on Iran is ludicrous.

Yes, I've read that and about 15 more. Pays one to know what's up down on K and about the ecosystem. Like I said I went looking and I get my fin-briefings.

A couple of points seem salient. Dead people can't tell abody anything; the living do - that's how it works. And that someone would have had to conspire with him to do anything substantially wrong or conspiratorial. I note that it was not disclosed what the specifics of his potential trangression may have been and who and what was involved. I'm fine with that. So he was working alone or there's colloborator's out running around? Awesome.

Please, do you know of any other instances of this sort of alleged "suicide" or more about this one? Or should I take the time to follow it very, very, very closely? I have a suspicion that maybe some folks (who knows who eh?) would love this to "just go away".

How about you dj? Do you think there's more "buried darkly in the lore from Virginia" or is the wait for an official investigation worth the wait? Either way I do find it very interesting at the vociferousness with which the "down-spin" seems to be engaged. The guy is dead, that doesn't "work" for him and some other folks apparently. Go figure. Forrestall jumped right?

Sorry that article is trash and there is no relation to possible US/Iran conflict.

Well, I disagree. As many people know, a Russian Agency is behind the "Sorcha Faal" website. It was created as a kind of counterweight to US cointelpro activities. But that does not mean that the whole story and links with US war preparations is fiction.

It was even published on the website of Russia's semi-official Newspaper Pravda (16.10.2007).
