Go to sleep if your tired, they will wait for you to wake up. If your not tired fine, maybe they are waiting for you to invite them in, ever think of that.

What ever is outside, if it was going to violate you, they would have done it by now. So be neighborly and see what they want. As for the peanutbutter thing, not confirmed.
