I'm not going to comment on the war going on with what should be done as punishment to this man, it seems that's going on fine without additional fuel for the fire. Think of this though, will some type of punishment make the situation better for anyone other then the mental fulfillment of vindication? I'll leave it at that, because I don't want to join the flames.

That's good to know she currently has no memory of the act. Yet. Age 3 is somewhere in that memory transition period where things become stored in a manner that can be recalled later in life. The memory is still there, and always will be. It's just a question of it has been stored in a way that is even chemically possible for her to recall. If it has, it's only a matter of time before the block breaks down.

The memory part I do not agree with. I can remember traumatic events that happened when I was 2 yrs of age, and mine weren't that terrible but I still apparently at that age thought it was traumatic enough to store it in my memory. This child is 3 and I'm sure she may not remember it all but believe me she knows that something wrong happened to her.

Any traumatic experience like that is going to devistate her whether she is conscious of it or not. Even though she may not remember it, or one day may remember a small brief image, it will effect the way she treates adults, and responds to them.

From my upbringing, as a result, I have no compassion toward my family. I don't remember most of it, but I do remember an item I was hit with. Pain like that subconsciously changes you. I don't hate my parents, but no matter what they do, at this point, I will never have any feelings toward them. Up until 17 I felt this way and didn't know why. I didn't even really remember most of the early childhood events till I remembered a bit later in my life when my neighbor made mention of them. I had remembered my neighbor of 9 (when I was 5) saying "Don't tell on him, his parents will beat him with a *item hear(no need to name it)*"

So I know, without a doubt, this is going to create a LOAD of problems for her down the road. Her experience I consider much more devistating then mine, and mine has left me with many issues.

Personally I hope they kill the bastard in whatever way they deem fit.
