The X Wing Flies!! Well,Sort of..

Not sure if this quite deserves to be in the space exploration part of ATS but I thought some would like to see this great first attempt at a REAL x wing fighter from Star Wars,built by some very creative people.

It really does fly,for a short while anyway!
I hope these guys try again,this is just great,I love it!

Yeah I saw that, fricken cool but XWings have repulsors they don't take off vertically.

I can't wait to see version 2.0,hopefully with extra stability in flight.

As a former member of Tripoli, I was not aware that "M" Class rocket motors were legal to even posess in California, not to mention use in an actual launch.

I wonder if the laws have changed that much?


As to the rocket; all I can say is that the wings had far too much mass for the design to work; they should have used a structural foam/carbon fiber laminate. Might have gotten a few more feet of altitude.
