I guess the iphone is alien technology to me because I don't have one and would have to learn to use it correctly if I ever get one. That's me though. I still have a playstation 2 and will probably get a playstation 3 when they come out with playstation 4. I'll give credit to the human mind for all the technology we have and I believe we have more technology that will blow our minds, it's just inside secret science labs and military facilities. Why give us " the people the upper hand. The governments will always have the best of the technology while us little people work our butts off to just get by.

Alien technology.

A cell phone is Alien technology. A cell phone with nearly the same components as other cell phones but with likeness of functions to the same company's previous hit product.

Yep. Alien Technology. Sounds logical.

Nothing alien about the iPhone. It's just a logical progression of existing technologies.

Now if you're talking about this:

That's the latest solar cell. It look so different than the blackish panels we're used to seeing. It looks alien. It's from a Korean company.

Incidentally, I think Koreans are aliens. I mean look at their writing:

Doesn't it look like certain crop circles?

Didn't you have a computer 10 years ago?

Introducing the IBM's 1956 5MB!! System 305 drive

Held a record (for then) of 1.7 MB per sq inch on the disks. Companies rented space on these things. The going rate was $7.81 a megabyte, 38 percent more than the price of oil at the time. Ahhhh, simpler times.

As far as the i-phone being alien tech I bloody hope not!! What does that say about us if someone is privvy to super advanced tech and all they do is knock together a naff phone

I had an IBM Aptiva in 1994, it had a 1gig HD which was plenty big enough back then because the size of the OS and various programs were not all that large or complex when you look back from today. IMO computers never gain any real edge as programs become more and more extreme. It's just a matter of maintaining noticeable performance from the user standpoint. Just because something is faster and more advanced doesn't mean it's going to translate as such when compared to the old.

As for the I-Phone being alien technology I can only laugh and say no offense for laughing.

I am quite certain that it is not alien technology. However, I am fairly sure that I have seen several creatures from other planets using them.

Not sure if that helps.

Not alien tech at all, if anybody actualy read about what was going on in the real world around them, they would have noticed an article last week about the two electrical engineers, an American and a German who discovered GMR (giant magneto-resistance) and wrote papers about it independantly in 1988, they jointly recieved a Nobel prize last week.
The discovery of GMR is the catalyst for the explosion in capacity of disk drives in the last ten years.

Who needs a hard drive?

Flash drives don't go slow, and you don't need to defragment.

I read about a new 50.000 GB flash drive somewhere.

Forget 50GB flash drives. Here's the successor to the HDD-Killer Throne:
Kanguru's 64GB King Kong Flash Drive

But retailing at $2799.95, I don't see this becoming commonplace soon.

If it's only available to the military, then there really is no point for us civvies talking about it, in my opinion. The military has probably got predator suits, too.

Yes the i-phone is alien technology, so is my shower head, my daughter's radio flyer wagon, and my freezer for creating the amazing alien ice I put in my beverages. Later I've got some greys coming over to grill some intergalactic space goat on a BBQ they reversed engineered from a reptilian 64 setting toaster oven.

C'mon this whole idea is rather ridiculous OP. Besides the only thing I can rely on google pictures for is an easy way to access goth porn, and finding anime wallpapers. Now if you'll excuse me I need to use my holographic bathroom.

Is it just me or is it that everytime I see you post, you're calling someone a troll.

Back to topic: No, the iPhone is not "alien technology", imo. Also, I'm pretty sure this belongs in Skunk Works since it's purely speculation.

You have to send away your iPhone to get a new battery and pay for it when it runs out.

Hardly Alien technology is it?! (yes I know it's all about the money, I was just kidding)

I just re-read the title of the thread... he is talking about AILEN technology... you know the Advanced Interstellar Lithuanian Entropy Negotiations. Glad I re-read that. It was a very important time in Lithuanian history.

If anyone is still reading this thread, I just want to say that the iphone is cool and all but you can still do 100x more stuff with your Pocket PC enabled phone or PDA and that is without hacking. Simply because the Windows Mobile OS has been out for a very long time already and it is very universal, flexible and mature and there are 100x more software vendors that support it and make software for it.

If any of you are confused an iphone and a Pocket PC enabled phone with Windows Mobile is basically the same exact device, the only difference is the user interface and that is where apple is winning at this present moment.

In fact Samsung has already released an 8gb windows mobile smart phone a year to a year in a half before the iphone came out. The only thing is that for some really really really stupid reason they decided to release it for Korea only, that really got me mad.

That's because Koreans are aliens. I am being serious here. They're the strangest bunch of people I've met. Strange in a good way, I guess.

Bleh... Just give me a regular nokia. I just use it to call and as an alarm, and it doesn't break when it falls.

As for this topic. Straight to Skunkworks it goes.
