I just got done drinking lemonaid right out of the 20 liter bottle. Some of it went in my lungs and I am coughing up lemonaid vapor. I can taste it and feel it in my throat. Woud my simple squamous cells in my lungs absord this lemonaid, or do I have to cough it out? Breathing is a little hard, not too bad and I can feel a tickle in my lungs.

Edit to fix spelling errors

I don't know how serious this is but I would recommend that you immediately go to the emergency room. We are dealing with your lungs here, don't take any chances.

I agree..while lemonade itself is harmless..who knows what it could do to your lungs.

Simple sqamous cells are specialized for absorbtion. The issue is resovled and I believe I coughed some of it out, and absorbed the rest.

Thank you for your concern. I understand you had a problem with your lungs that led you to your NDE. I don't think I swallowed enough for need to go to the emergency room.

The human lungs are very complex, and they can absorb liquid in them to a certain extent.

Feeling fine and being fine are two different things.
Not to scare you, but you wouldn't want to regret checking this out with a doctor now would you?

It only takes a little liquid either 2 teaspoons or two tablespoons to drown a person. I even heard when a person seems fine then suddenly reverts and they start gasping and such. Water or lemonade for that matter does not belong in your lungs.

Go to the ER- Why are you still sitting there? Move it!!

I did not drink the whole two liter bottle, only out of it.

I think going to the doctor would make me a hypochondriac. I think my origional post made it sound too dramatic. Liquids are absorbed by the lungs, that is why the cells in there are specialized for absorbtion.

I'm 100% positive that a doctor would say that there's nothing wrong with me. Plus it would be uneccessary spending of money, as visits are expensive.

I would tend to agree. I don't think you're in any danger from inhaling a small amount of lemonaid, whatever isn't absorbed should be coughed up.

i guess only time will tell if you are going to be alright or not

Heres the knowledge.

The problem with inhaling organic, sweet, sugary things, is that it can cause grave infections in your lungs. You see, the bacteria lives off of glucose, the break down of sugar. So sugary lemonade into the lungs will feed all the bacteria in there, and you may or may not come up with a lung infection / cough. But that would be the worst thing thatll happen to you.
